    Written by acclaimed playwright Ossie Davis, Purlie Victorious follows the journey of Purlie Victorious Judson, a Black self-made traveling preacher, as he returns to his segregated Georgia hometown with a bold mission: to buy and rehabilitate its derelict church, Big Bethel.
