Shine a light on self-taught artists with a talk at Menil Collection

Learn about what goes into exhibiting and curating self-taught artist exhibitions with a conversation at the Menil Collection on Thursday, September 29, 2016.

Co-presented by the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art, attendees can take in a discussion in the Menil Collection’s foyer on the role of museums in shaping conceptions and conversations about self-taught art.

Menil curator Lee Kogan and Matthew Higgs, director of alternative art space White Columns, New York will be leading the free hour-long talk.

Held in conjunction with the As Essential As Dreams: Self-Taught Art exhibition, seating is limited for this free public program. As Essential As Dreams is on view at the Menil Collection through Sunday, October 16, 2016.
