Honor the music and legacy of the “Queen of Tejano”, Selena Quintanilla at these tribute events around Houston from Saturday, April 15 to Saturday, April 22, 2022.

Free concerts, movie parties, markets and more are just some of the celebrations that pop up across Houston that honor Selena, the iconic singer who would be celebrating her 52nd birthday on Sunday, April 16.

We’ve gathered a handful of events that pay tribute to the Queen of Tejano in 2023, helping you “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” all night long.

  • Como La Flor Market at the Esplanade on Navigation | Saturday, April 15 | No Cover – This recurring pet-friendly market in East Downtown offers an afternoon of cumbias, cultura and local vendors offering handcrafted and one-of-a-kind goods, with some special tributes to Selena. 11am to 4pm.
  • Selena Movie Screening at Rooftop Cinema Club Uptown | Saturday, April 15 – Take in a screening of the 1997 classic biopic that traces Selena’s rise to stardom with an outdoor movie in Uptown. $17.50 and up. 4:15pm.
  • The Icons: Selena Tribute at Sugar Land Town Square | Saturday, April 15 | FREE – In celebration of Selena Day and the Queen of Tejano, the Sugar Land hub for shopping and dining hosts a free concert with all of Selena’s hits. 7:30pm.
  • Noche de Selena at Axelrad Beer Garden | Saturday, April 15 | FREE – Celebrate the contributions of Selena at the neon garden in Third Ward, which hosts a night of live music and Selena videos all evening. Vanita Leo, Chapy Moon and Rosez perform. 21+ only. 8pm.
  • Selena Day at Dan Electros | Sunday, April 16 | FREE – DJ Rosez spins a tribute to Selena at the Heights bar, which also screens the Queen’s iconic concert in the Astrodome. 2pm to 5pm.
  • Selena Movie Party at Alamo Drafthouse | Sunday, April 16 – Celebrate Selena Day with a screening of the biographical film, Selena, complete with singalong opportunities, props and more. $15.15. 6pm.
  • Selena Movie Screening at Axelrad Beer Garden | Sunday, April 16 | FREE – Close out Selena Day proper when Axelrad hosts an outdoor screening of the 1997 classic. 8:30pm.
  • Monica’s Bidi Bidi Tribute at Warehouse Live | Friday, April 21 | FREE with RSVP – Experience the iconic hits of Selena when Monica’s Bidi Bidi Tribute brings her acclaimed homage to the Queen of Tejano to East Downtown. Free with RSVP; VIP options available. 7:30pm.
  • Vendor Fair & Tribute to Selena at Pearland Town Center | Saturday, April 22 | FREE – More than 30 vendors set up shop at the Pearland destination, where Amanda Solis will take the stage for a high-energy set that delivers the hits of Selena Quintanilla. 10am to 5pm.
