Toast to Saint Patrick’s Day parties and celebrations in Houston from Thursday, March 14 to St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday, March 17, 2024.
This year, plenty of Houston’s hot spots will be serving up St. Patrick’s festivities with drink specials, live performances, games, and so much more.
We’ve gathered some of the best happenings at pubs, breweries and other big events taking place across Houston.
2024 St. Patrick’s Day Parties & Celebrations in Houston

- St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Celebration at Wakefield Crowbar | Thursday, March 14 to Sunday, March 17 | FREE – All weekend long, the Garden Oaks bar and volleyball venue celebrates the holiday with festive drinks, live music and DJs, a special kitchen menu and more. Saturday features a sand volleyball tournament, and Sunday will break out the bagpipes for St. Patrick’s Day proper. Times vary.
- Kiss Me, I’m Irish Bar Crawl in Midtown | Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17 – This three-day pub crawl hits several Midtown destinations, including The Dogwood, Wooster’s Garden and Front Porch Pub, following check-in at Leon’s Lounge. Secure your wristband to skip cover at bars, plus enjoy participating drink specials. $15 and up. Times vary.
- 3rd Annual St. Patrick’s Extravaganza at McIntyre’s Downtown | Saturday, March 16 & Sunday, March 17 | No Cover – The Downtown outpost of this pub offers a three-story celebration on the bayou, with live performances and DJs alongside green beer and frozens, and other festivities. 11am to 2am.
- St. Paddy’s Party at Truck Yard | Saturday, March 16 & Sunday, March 17 | No Cover – In East Downtown, Truck Yard rolls all day long with Irish drinks and live music, plus traditional Irish foods from local food trucks, cocktail specials and more. Noon to 2am.
- Griff’s & Velvet Oak’s Weekend Block Party at Velvet Oak Tavern | Saturday, March 16 & Sunday, March 17 – While the Montrose mainstay Griff’s continues to rebuild following a devastating fire, they’ve joined forces with Velvet Oak Tavern on West Alabama to celebrate the holiday with 2 days of Irish-infused fun with an all-day Irish crawfish and shrimp boil with live music on Saturday, followed by even music, Irish dancers, DJs, food, and more at the main event on Sunday. No cover on Saturday with crawfish $8 per pound.; $10 on Sunday. 11am to 2am both days.
- St. Patrick’s Day Festival at Pimlico | Saturday, March 16 & Sunday, March 17 | No Cover – The Irish pub on Waugh hosts a two-day weekend celebration with live music, flowing green beer, food and swag inside and outside the bar. 1pm to 2am.

- St Patrick’s Parade Watch Party at El Big Bad | FREE – As the annual parade rolls through Downtown, you can catch it all with prime views from the tequila-infused El Big Bad. VIP tickets are required for the balcony, but general admission to the bar is free. 11am to 4pm.
- Griff’s Annual Irish Crawfish Boil at Velvet Oak Tavern | No Cover – Enjoy a tasty, all-day Irish crawfish and shrimp boil with live music from the Zydeco Bulls and Snit’s Dog and Pony Show, green beer, and food from Velvet Oak Tavern and Bollo’s Woodfired Pizza Truck. Return on Sunday for the official St. Paddy’s Day party. Crawfish $8 per pound. 11am to close.
- 3rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party at Ducky McShweeney’s | FREE – The Uptown Irish pub celebrates on Saturday with live bands, DJs, bagpipers, drink specials and more. VIP admission is $20 and up. 11am to 2am.
- 63rd Annual Houston St. Patrick’s Parade & Celebration at Post Houston | FREE – The annual parade hits the streets of Downtown, winding around Market Square Park toward Post for an award ceremony. All afternoon long, Post will host family-friendly activities with games, food, Irish performances, an outdoor market, live music and more. Noon to 4pm.
- St. Patrick’s Celebration & Crawfish at Vallensons’ Brewing Company | FREE – The Pearland brewery hosts a full day of partying with live music by Patty O’Beers and crawfish served up hot. Vallensons’ will also be dropping special beer releases for the occasion. 2pm to 10pm.
- Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl at Front Porch Pub – This annual pub crawl (not to be confused with Lucky’s Pub) will send festive crawlers through seven pit stops in Midtown, kicking off from the check-in at Front Porch Pub. Once you make your way through, swing by Playground for the official after party that kicks off at 10pm. $20. 4pm to 2am.
- 4th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party at Social Beer Garden | No Cover – The Midtown beer garden will serve up free Jell-O shots while they last along with $5 green beers, drink specials, DJ tunes, a special “Luck of the Irish” burlesque show, and more. 21+ only. 5pm to 2am.
- Couple’s Cook: An Irish Dinner at Central Market – This partnered cooking class works you through the recipes for a St. Patrick’s Day meal, including Irish soda bread, lamb chops with a pan sauce, creamy mashed potatoes, and a traditional apple-filled dessert. $80 per person. 6:30pm.
- Pre-St. Patrick’s Day Concert with Lectric Eye at Continental Club – Grab your green for this special concert that helps usher in the day-of celebrations, featuring classic David Bowie tunes and ’80s dance party hits courtesy of Lectric Eye. $10 and up. 9pm.

Saint Patrick’s Day, Sunday, March 17, 2024
- Time to Paddy 5K, 10K & Lucky 13.1 Half Marathon in West Houston – In West Houston near Katy, this St. Patrick’s Day run invites the whole family to pound pavement in Kids Dash, 5K and 10K lengths, plus a half marathon, with post-race food, race swag and more. $15 and up. 8am.
- Saint Patrick’s Day at Saint Arnold Brewing Company | No Cover – Houston’s oldest brewery throws another St. Patrick’s Day bash at the beer garden with beer, delicious eats, live entertainment and more, plus the return of the annual Donegal Beard Growing competition. 11am to 11pm.
- Griff’s Annual St. Paddy’s Day Party at Velvet Oak Tavern – Griff’s big event lands on St. Patrick’s Day itself, with live music on a big outdoor stage, leprechauns, green beer, cold shots, Bollo Woodfired Pizza, festival food, face painting, Irish dancers, and more. Proceeds from the event go to help rebuild the Montrose institution which caught fire in early 2023. $10. 11am to close.
- St. Patrick’s Day at True Anomaly Brewing Company | No Cover – Named Texas Brewery of the Year for two years running, the brewery founded by four guys from NASA eschews the green beers. But this year they’ve added special green St. Patrick’s Day cocktails to their stellar lineup of saisons, tripel, quads, wilds, sours, and hops. Noon to 9pm, with music by DJ Marc West from 2pm to 5pm.
- Saint Patrick’s Day 2024 at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck – The longtime Upper Kirby pub and music venue spills out onto an outdoor stage for a day of traditional bagpipers, a special St. Patrick’s food and drink menu, and plenty of good-spirited fun. VIP indoor celebrations are sold out; $30 for the outdoor only party. Noon to 2am.
- St. Patricks’ Day Party at Sam Houston Race Park – Buck Yeager and a live bagpiper headline this Sunday Funday series at the horse racing park, along with beer from Eureka Heights and grub courtesy of Texasiana food truck. Clutch City Crawfish will also be on-site, plus you can take in fun family activities like a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables, and arts and crafts. $5; free for ages 5 and under. 12:30pm to 5pm.
- Celtic Celebration at Kemah Boardwalk | FREE – The Boardwalk celebrates Celtic culture with an afternoon of live performances, local vendors, beer and live music, plus crafts and games for the family. 1pm to 5pm.
- St. Paddy’s Day Bash at Urban South HTX | No Cover – The Arts District brewery throws a big party with beer specials and themed cocktails, plus face painting, a bounce house and more. 1pm to 6pm.
- St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl in the Heights – Set off on a pub crawl through White Oak institutions, starting at Christian’s Tailgate and proceeding through nearby spots like Bobcat Teddy’s Ice House, Onion Creek, EZ’s Liquor Lounge and several others. $15 and up. 1pm to 2am.
- Punk Rock Garage Sale: St. Patrick’s Day Edition at Bad Astronaut Brewing | FREE – In Northside, this monthly garage sale returns with more than 50 vendors selling everything from shirts, music and art to collectibles, music gear, crafts and more. 2pm to 6pm.
- St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Marriott Marquis Houston – The Texas-shaped rooftop pool at the Downtown hotel hosts a St. Patrick’s Day bash with live Irish music from Katie Geringer and Matt Lewis, plus Irish soda bread and other eats along with green beer. $30. 2pm to 6pm.
- Party on St. Paddy’s at Baker Street Pub in Sugar Land | FREE – Along with a night of live music, contests and drink specials, the Sugar Land pub will also be doling out themed party favors and big prizes to celebrate the holiday. 4pm to 8pm.
- Johnny O’Calderon’s St. Paddy’s Day Party at the Big Easy | No Cover – Wrap up your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with a closing concert from John Calderon at the jazz-infused bar and social club near Rice Village. 6pm to 10pm.
