Catch the classic 80s action flick that spawned Bruce Willis’ film career when the River Oaks Theatre holds midnight screenings of Die Hard on Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7, 2013.

It’s a Christmas movie with some bite, and a catchy curse phrase that River Oaks cleverly managed to get on their marquee. They may have changed the last word, making it family-friendly and relevant, but anyone who knows John McTiernan’s action hero flick can’t help but chuckle when they read “Yippee Ki Yay Moviegoers” and hear the beats of the film’s most memorable line.

If you’re only familiar with the retreaded Die Hard sequels, this one is worth checking out. Bruce Willis played New York City Detective John McClane, arriving in Los Angeles to spend Christmas holiday with his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia). As he waits for his wife’s office party to break up, terrorists take control of the building. While the terrorist leader, Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), rounds up hostages, McClane slips away unnoticed. Armed with only a service revolver and his cunning, McClane launches his own one-man war.
