In our Park Spotlight series, we take a closer look at Houston’s vast array of public recreational areas to shine a light on hidden and not so hidden gems. This week we’ll be spotlighting Jaycee Park. Join us as we take a trip through Houston, park by park.

Located in the heart of the largely residential Lazybrook/Timbergrove area near T.C. Jester, the tranquil Jaycee Park features ample amenities for kids and adults alike.

After a complete renovation in 2012, this Heights-area gem has been totally revamped with 1/3-mile walking trail, new basketball and tennis courts (including 1 new backboard and 2 Quick-Start courts), new playgrounds with shade structures, a splash pad, picnic tables, benches, and plenty of other park beautification.

Kids looking to work up a sweat before hitting the splashpad can delight in the large playground which features a miniature rock wall, playground musical percussion, a rope bridge, seesaws, slides, monkey bars and more.
