A Very Merry New Year’s Eve at True Anomaly Brewing | EaDo – The EaDo brewery, sprung from the minds of 4 guys from NASA and named Brewery of the Year 2023 at the Texas Craft Brewer’s Cup, hosts a snazzy, all-inclusive party with a 5-hour open bar—including draft beer, wines, Champagne, and specialty cocktails—along with heavy hors d’oeuvres, door prizes, live music, dancing and a midnight countdown with a toast. $95 per person; $180 and up for 2. 8pm to 1am.

The Tux & Tennies NYE 2024 Celebration at Grooves of Houston | Third Ward – Put on your New Year’s Eve finest and pair it with the perfect kicks for this Third Ward bash at Grooves. Angelucho Copacabana: New Year’s Extravaganza 2024 in Sugar Land | Sugar Land – This Cuban-themed New Year’s Eve party will have you rocking out on the dance floor with the Copacabana band and a DJ between sets. Downtown Houston

  • Resolution Run Houston along Buffalo Bayou – Whether you’re trying to sneak in a resolution in the final hours of the year or just trying to start the year right, this annual run event offers lengths from a family 1-miler and 5K to half-marathon. The course starts in Downtown and follows Memorial Drive past Shepherd and back. Registration starts at $55 for the 5K, up to $80 for the half marathon; family 1-mile run/walk is $40. 7:30am.
  • New Year’s Eve at Sambuca – The Downtown nightlife destination located in the Rice Hotel will host multiple seatings for a three-course New Years dinner along with live music from the Tracy Perez Band and a midnight champagne toast. $65 and up. 6pm to midnight.
  • New Year’s Eve Bash at The Rustic | FREE – The Downtown restaurant and music venue provides the downhome vibes for a night of live bands to keep you dancing, plus fun photobooths, games and giveaways, drink features and a midnight toast. 8pm to 12:30am.
  • Retro New Year’s Eve Bash at McIntyre’s Downtown – This third annual bash at the Downtown outpost of the Irish pub celebrates with a retro disco upstairs and a special guest DJ downstairs. Pick your vibe and enjoy a full night of dancing, food trucks and a complimentary toast at midnight. $29 and up. 8pm to 2am.
  • NYE Bash with Skyrocket at Last Concert Cafe – Skyrocket delivers the hits of the ’70s and ’80s at the Downtown haunt for Tex-Mex and live music. Dance the night away to the high-energy hits of yesteryear as midnight drops at this longtime Houston institution. $75 and up. 9pm to 2am.
  • If It Don’t Feel Like 90s New Years Eve Edition at House of Blues – The Foundation Room at the Downtown venue is the place to be if you’re in the mood for some classic ’90s R&B to ring in the new year. Midtown, Museum District & Third Ward

  • KTSU New Year’s Eve Brunch & Day Party at the Eldorado Ballroom | Third Ward – Lucille’s delivers the eats for this New Year’s Eve jazz and gospel brunch at the historic Third Ward ballroom. Spud Howard, Jenni P and other special surprise guests will supply the music for the afternoon. $75. 11:30am to 3:30pm.
  • New Year’s Eve Dinner at Brennan’s of Houston | Midtown – Grab your New Years dinner at the Gulf-Creole institution in Midtown, which will serve up their dinner menu alongside music from a roaming jazz band. 5:30pm to 9pm.
  • Crawl ‘Til the Ball Falls Bar Crawl at Leon’s Lounge | Midtown – Go bar-hopping and pick your spot for the ball drop with this New Years pub crawl that kicks off at Leon’s Lounge, before proceeding to five other nearby spots like Front Porch Pub, Holman Draft House, Playground HTX and more.   • Mixers & Elixirs NYE Party at Houston Museum of Natural Science | Museum District – JoiLux Band headlines this evening at HMNS, providing the tunes for a night of dancing under the dinosaurs along with multiple bars, food, DJs and stellar view of the fireworks show at midnight. 21+. $60. 8pm to 1am.
  • New Year’s Eve with Bayou City Funk at Continental Club | Midtown – The Mid-Main stage parties through midnight with headlining performances from the brass-heavy Bayou City Funk, as well as Austin-based Nik Parr & the Selfless Lovers. $20 and up. 9pm to 2am.
  • NYE Bash at Hotel ZaZa | Museum District – Snag a room at the swanky Hotel ZaZa in Museum District and get access to the boutique hotel’s NYE party and brunch the next day. Enjoy live DJ, cocktail pop-ups, a champagne toast and then quell the hangover the next day with an elaborate brunch buffet, mimosas and Bloody Marys. Room reservations begin at $499; Party-only VIP tickets are available for $1,000. 10pm to 2am.
  • Gatsby New Years Eve at Clé | Midtown – The Midtown nightlife spot hosts a Roaring ‘20s–themed bash with DJ Rectic on the decks and a midnight bubbly toast, plus dancing and mingling until the early hours of the morning. $25 and up. 10pm to 6am.

EaDo & East End

  • NYE Whole Hog Day Party at J-Bar-M Barbecue | EaDo – Fill up on delicious smoked bbq for lunch before the evening parties begin. David Dan BBQ and Rosemeyer Bar-B-Q team up with the EaDo smokehouse for a whole hog special, serving up sandwiches on a pretzel bun with black eyed peas, collard greens, Maui Wowie sausage link, and a Lone Star until the pig is gone.   • 2023 Year in Review Comedy Breakdown at the Secret Group | EaDo – The EaDo comedy club hosts two special sets on New Year’s Eve, covering the crazy year of 2023 and all its ups and downs. Snag a ticket to a show and enjoy entry to the NYE bash that kicks off at 9pm. $15 and up. 7pm and 9pm.
  • LVL 2024 New Year’s Eve at Cidercade | EaDo – This 21+ event at the sprawling arcade and cidery will supply a night of unlimited play on more than 275 games, along with food trucks, confetti cannons and a midnight toast of Cidercade’s champagne-style cider. $40 and up. 8pm to 1am (open to VIP at 7pm).
  • NYE 2024 with Icon at Noto Nightclub | East End – One of the nightlife newcomers to the Houston scene, Noto hosts a New Year’s Eve party with a 5-hour open bar to help the good times flow all night long. Enjoy a sensational night of live DJs, a confetti-covered midnight countdown, complimentary Champagne toast, and more. $60 and up. 9pm to 2am.

  • New Year’s Eve Bash at Five Central | Upper Kirby | FREE – This dining and nightlife cluster off Kirby Drive hosts an all-day New Years event that kicks off with brunch and DJ sets through the afternoon before the evening festivities get rolling at 7pm. Expect a night of live music and high-energy dancing through midnight, and a complimentary bottle of bubbles for VIP. Free to attend; $20 for VIP. 10am to 2am.
  • New Year’s Eve in Ireland with Ulla & Piper Jones at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck | Upper Kirby – Celebrate the new year Irish-style with traditional Irish music by Ulla, joined by Piper Jones. This year’s performance is synced with the New Year’s drop in Ireland, which takes place in the early evening of Houston. $50 and up. 4:30pm.
  • New Year’s Eve at Flight Club Houston | River Oaks – Aim for a bullseye on your New Years plans at this social dart club in River Oaks. Individual tickets will net you two free drinks plus a complimentary midnight champagne toast and bottomless bites. Packages for groups of 6 to 20 are also available and include a private area for darts and dining, premium beverage packages and complimentary champagne toasts. $60 per person for an individual ticket; $130 per person for a group package ticket. 9pm to 1am.
  • New Year’s Eve at Numbers Nightclub | Montrose – The Montrose haunt hosts a midnight bash for New Year’s, returning to the dance floor with a $2,024 cash balloon drop at the stroke of 12, plus complimentary party favors. Cover charge at the door. 9pm to 2:30am.
  • New Year’s Eve Bash at La Colombe d’Or | Montrose – The Montrose fine dining restaurant hosts their first ever New Year’s bash that also celebrates its centennial anniversary. The iconic mansion will feature a night of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, cigars and scotch, plus DJs and dancing all night. $195 and up. 10pm to 1am.

Greater Heights, Washington Avenue & Uptown

  • NYE Last Dance Brunch at We Olive & Wine Bar | Heights | No Cover – The Heights spot for wine and food celebrates the friends they made along the way with this final event on the last day of their six-year run. Come by to enjoy glasses and bottles from their selection of small production, artisan wines and enjoy 50% discounts on the remaining olive oils, balsamic vinegars and other retail products.   • New Year’s Eve at Lei Low | Heights | No Cover – Head to the Heights-area tiki bar and step back in time to 1940s Havana, as Lei Low continues its New Year’s Eve tradition of transforming into another iconic tiki bar. This year, the bar channels El Floridita, the Cuba spot where Hemingway held court. Expect El Floridita cocktails on the menu, along with Lei Low favorites. 4pm to 2am.

  • New Year’s Eve Family Fun at Galveston Island Brewing | FREE – The Galveston brewery just a block from the seawall hosts its annual family-friendly event for New Years, offering an early evening of fun, NYE swag, sparkling cider for kiddos and a countdown to “midnight” at 6pm. The Shepherd Mix food truck will be on-site supplying the grub. 4pm to 6pm.
