It’s official, at least in the land of retail. Houston’s 2013 Christmas season is here. Memorial City is officially lighting its holiday lights on Saturday and they’ve enlisted some impressive help to get the job done.

Leading up the to illumination, Michael Garfield of KPRC Radio will emcee a musical show with seasonal music from Virtuosi of Houston, the Memorial City Mall Dancing Reindeer, and headlining performers Dallas String Quartet (DSQ electric). Everything leads up to the grand arrival of Santa Claus, who will personally light the city’s lights for the first time this season.

Everyone who brings in a new, unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots will be entered into a raffle. Prizes include a Memorial City Lights package from the Westin Houston in Memorial City, American Girl dolls, tickets to see the Houston Ballet’s The Nutcracker and $50 Becks Prime gift cards.
