This week, we’re pleased to feature Mariselle Quijano, the local owner/operator of a McDonald’s restaurant at 6000 Gulf Freeway Houston, TX 77023. Her restaurant was recently painted with a mural, Arte sin Barreras, by Gonzo247.
My Top 5 Things to Do in Houston

- Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) at the Hobby Center – TUTS productions are timeless. I have been a Star Patron for more than 20 years and they continue to surprise us with amazing, award-winning shows year after year. Houston’s Theater District is truly incredible and I’m proud to live in a city with so many opportunities to enjoy performing arts.
- Cheering on the Texans or the Astros at Home – I love all Houston sports. I have Houston Texans season tickets and love watching them play at NRG Stadium. The Astros are so fun to watch at Minute Maid Park as well. I will be cheering them on tonight when they play the Red Sox. Go ‘Stros!
- Getting outside at Memorial Park – It’s the biggest urban park in Texas and it offers so much to Houstonians. I love taking my dogs for a walk on the Seymour Leiberman Exercise Trail. It’s also a great park for people watching.
- Romano’s Pizza on West Gray – I was born in Manhattan and I love a great slice of New York pizza! The best pizza in town is Romano’s Pizza on West Grey. It reminds me of picking up a slice right where I grew up! I always get plain cheese.
- Kuhl-Linscomb – I could spend hours looking around at Kuhl-Linscomb. It’s such a gem right at Kirby and Alabama. It’s my go-to for party supplies, baby gifts and kitchen gadgets.
About Mariselle Quijano
Mariselle Quijano is a local McDonald’s owner/operator with 26 restaurants in the Greater Houston area. She is the daughter of Cuban immigrants and was born in New York City before relocating to Pasadena, where she graduated high school and received her Undergraduate degree from the University of Houston – Downtown. Quijano is passionate about her community and has served on the Board of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Houston/Galveston and the Pasadena ISD School Board.
