  • Chona E at Houston Improv | Wednesday, September 4 – The Latina comic and TikToker, who exploded onto the comedy scene in 2018 with her viral videos parodying Cardi B with a Latin twist, performs for one night only at the Improv stage in Spring Branch. $40 for 2 people. 7:30pm.
  • Jo Koy at Toyota Center | Friday, September 6 – Known for filing up stadiums around North America and beyond, Jo Koy returns to H-Town for crowd-pleasing comedy in the heart of Downtown. $49.50 and up. 8pm.
  • Punkie Johnson at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday, September 6 & Saturday, September 7 (Canceled) – The New Orleans native, best known for 4 seasons on Saturday Night Live and A Black Lady Sketch Show, performs 4 shows on the Riot stage above Rudyard’s in Montrose. $25. Showtimes vary.
  • Ian Bagg at Houston Improv | Friday, September 6 & Saturday, September 7 – With shows featuring fast-paced, multi-directional riffs that frequently follow a tangent in whole new directions, Bagg’s audiences often show up more than once in a weekend to see the comic at work. $50 for 2 people. Showtimes vary.
  • Whitney Cummings at 713 Music Hall | Saturday, September 7 – The stand-up comic, actor and director of The Female Brain, Whitney Cummings makes an appearance at Post HTX’s music venue in Downtown while on her Big Baby Tour. $47 and up. 7pm. 
  • Sam Tallent at The Secret Group | Saturday, September 7 – Deigned “the absurd voice of a surreal generation” by the Denver Post, Tallent takes to the EaDo stage for two shows. $20 in advance; $25 day of show. 7pm and 9pm.
  • Dave Chappelle with Mo Amer at Punch Line Houston | Sunday, September 8 & Monday, September 9 – After selling out his two solo shows that officially open Punch Line Houston earlier in the same weekend, Chappelle has added two additional week night shows where he’ll be joined by comic and Houston son Mo Amer. On sale at 11am on Thursday, August 29 at 11am. Both shows at 8pm.
  • Houston All-Pro Comedy Showcase at Punch Line Houston | Thursday, September 12 – The new Punch Line welcomes two comics with Houston roots, Barry Laminack and Tre Tutson. Laminack draws in audiences with his takes on marriage, pop culture, and life in general; while Tutson’s opinionated comedy touches upon his insecurities and shortcomings, plus his history including his father’s transition from pimp to pulpit, growing up in a racist neighborhood and more. $5.25. 7:30pm.
  • Angelo Colina (En Español) at Punch Line Houston | Friday, September 13 & Saturday, September 14 – The Venezuelan comedian, filmmaker, writer and producer takes the stage at the brand new Punch Line Houston for 2 shows performed entirely in Spanish. $38.20. 7pm both nights.
  • Jetski Johnson at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday, September 13 & Saturday, September 14 – The L.A.-based stand-up comic and trumpet player and Kill Tony podcast member from Phoenix takes to the Montrose stage for 2 live sets. $20. 7pm both nights.
  • Meghan Hanley at The Secret Group | Saturday, September 14 – The EaDo landmark welcomes the Brooklyn-based comic who’s been featured in Forbes, and appeared on AXSTV’s Gotham Comedy Live, the MSG Network, DreamsTV, and Fox’s Laughs and Red Eye. $20. 7pm.
  • Mark Curry at Punch Line Houston | Friday, September 20 & Saturday, September 21 – The man who put the Coop in the ’90s ABC sitcom Hanging with Mr. Cooper lands in Downtown for a 4 shows at the new comedy club. $36.75. Showtimes vary.
  • Tony Rock at Houston Improv | Friday, September 20 to Sunday, September 22 – The Brooklyn-based comic—a regular headliner at legendary comedy clubs Caroline’s, the Apollo, Laugh Factory, and the Comedy Store—performs 4 live sets on the Improv stage. $50 for 2 people. Showtimes vary.
  • Chaunté Wayans at Punch Line Houston | Thursday, September 26 to Saturday, September 28 – A member of the highly hilarious Wayans comedy royalty, Chaunté Wayans brings her comedy chops to the Downtown stage. $32.50. Showtimes vary.
  • Baron Vaughn at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday, September 27 & Saturday, September 28 – Vaughn, best known as an for playing Bud on the Netflix’s Grace & Frankie and voicing Tom Servo in the recent seasons of cult-hit Mystery Science Theater 3000, lands at the Montrose club for 3 shows. $20 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • Sal Vulcano at Houston Improv | Friday, September 27 & Saturday, September 28 – The Staten Island native, who created and starred in truTV’s long-running hit Impractical Jokers, hits the Improv stage for 4 sets. $90 for 2 people. Showtimes vary.
