Work those legs at the La Porte 125 5K Family Fun Run in Downtown La Porte on Saturday morning, May 13, 2017.
Held in conjunction with La Porte’s 125th anniversary celebration, the La Porte 125 5K features awards for the top finishing runners in the male, female, and kids categories.
The family friendly race is a great opportunity for runners, and aspiring runners, to see if they can set a new personal best time. The race is chipped, which means that all runners will have the run time tracked to the split second by microchip in their credentials.
All registered runners will receive a La Porte 125 Anniversary t-shirt.
The run will be followed by a free 125th anniversary parade and an Antique Airplane and Car Show, complete with a battle of the bands.

La Porte 125 – Anniversary Celebration
Located just five miles from the site of the historic Battle of San Jacinto, the City of La Porte was founded in 1892. After planning and grading, including laying out today’s Five Points Plaza, lots were first sold on New Year’s Day of that year.
The city was incorporated the following summer, on August 10, 1892, and J.H. York designated as the city’s first mayor.
Today’s La Porte is pulling out all the stops this May in a four-day celebration filled with live music, a classic car and air show, a family fun run, gala dinner with the Mambo Kings, a Mother’s Day brunch, and more.
