Come together to celebrate remarkable women at International Women’s Day events across Greater Houston through Sunday, March 10, 2024.

For more than a century, International Women’s Day has marked a day for celebrating the achievements and legacies of women around the world, as well as focusing on the wide-ranging issues confronting women’s rights.

This year, Houston will play host to several special events that commemorate the day, from markets and panel discussions to debut concerts, networking events and more.

International Women’s Day 2024 Events in Greater Houston

  • Houston Rockets vs. Los Angeles Clippers at Toyota Center | Wednesday, March 6 – While James Harden and the Clippers take on the Rockets, you can celebrate International Women’s Day with a special ticket for $100 that includes a drink ticket and light bites, a pregame panel discussion with Rockets President Gretchen Sheirr and other guests, a Sip ‘n’ Stroll market, and a Kendra Scott gold jack chain bracelet. Other tickets are $23 and up. 7pm.
  • International Women’s Day Panel at Rothko Chapel | Thursday, March 7 | FREE – The Montrose landmark for quietude celebrates International Women’s Day with a a panel discussion about women’s leadership in labor organizing movements, featuring renowned civil rights activist Dolores Huerta. Learn about labor issues, how to get involved, and how to join in community building to achieve organizing goals. This event is currently at capacity, but you can still tune in via livestream. 6pm.
  • Women’s History Month Trivia at North Shepherd Brewing | Thursday, March 7 | FREE – This special night of trivia will test your knowledge of remarkable women throughout history. Plus, Pink Boots Pale Ale will launch that evening, with a portion of proceeds going toward their mission of assisting women and non-binary individuals in the beverage industry to advance their careers through education. 7pm.
  • International Women’s Day Celebration at City Place | Thursday, March 7 | FREE – The Spring destination for shopping and dining offers an evening of connection with like-minded people, featuring meditations, yoga and stress-releasing exercises, a tealight labyrinth, and more. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Sisters of the Road: International Women’s Day Celebration & FotoFest Launch at Sawyer Yards | FREE – A new immersive exhibition highlighting women truckers kicks off its U.S. tour with an opening night celebration.Guests can meet a real female trucker and tour her truck. Plus there will be an artist, curator, trucker talk. Sisters of the road will be on view daily through Wednesday, March 13, 2024. 6pm to 8pm.
  • All Access Art Market at Finn Hall | Friday, March 8 | FREE – The monthly art market in Downtown returns with a night of women’s appreciation, celebrating women creatives, artists and entrepreneurs in a panel discussion, plus food and drink from women-led businesses as you shop local artwork. 6pm to 11pm.

  • International Women’s Day at Ardest Gallery | Friday, March 8 & Saturday, March 9 | FREE – The Woodlands gallery celebrates International Women’s Day with local female artists that will provide live demonstrations along with meet-and-greets and special offers. Friday at 2pm; Saturday at 2pm and 4pm.
  • International Women’s Day Celebration at Trez Bistro & Wine Bar | Saturday, March 9 – Put on your best flower attire for this evening celebration of women, their achievements and contributions. Connect with like-minded individuals and take in thought-provoking discussions while sampling delicious food and drink from the bistro’s menu. $5. 4pm to 7pm.
  • The Women’s Quarter Marathon at Karbach Brewing Co. | Sunday, March 10 – Come together to celebrate International Women’s Day by running this unique, 6.55-mile distance race. A 5k and 1k options for little racers are also available. $25 and up. 7:30am.
  • International Women’s Day at Karbach Brewing Co. | Sunday, March 10 | No Cover – Following the quarter marathon, Karbach and Shop Local Market host a celebration of International Women’s Day with a market showcasing 30 local female entrepreneurs, artists, and makers. 11am to 6pm.
  • International Women’s Month at 8th Wonder Distillery | Sunday, March 10 | FREE – The EaDo distillery hosts the launch of the Houston Women’s Chamber Orchestra, who will perform alongside other small ensembles in celebration of International Women’s Month at this family-friendly concert. 3pm to 6pm.
