See Megan Hilty, star of the late NBC show Smash, live on stage as she sings classic songs from Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and other greats accompanied by the Houston Symphony from November 15 through 17, 2013.
Now staring in NBC’s Sean Saves the World, Megan Hilty is probably best known as the real life Broadway star who played aspiring fictional Broadway starlet Ivy Lynn in NBC’s uneven but beloved musical drama. Now she’s bringing her bigger-than-life talent to Houston.
Accompanied by our own Houston Symphony in Luck Be a Lady, she’ll be paying tribute to the classic music of the 20th Century. This is your chance to hear Hilty belt out such classics like “The Lady Is a Tramp,” “Night and Day,” “The Best is Yet to Come,” “9 to 5” and – in a knowing tribute to Smash – “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.”
Before she was introduced to the nation on television, Hilty’s star was already shining on Broadway. Time Magazine called her “the new princess of Broadway” for her performances in musicals Wicked and 9 to 5 on the “Great White Way.” You can now catch her co-starring with Sean Hayes on the NBC sitcom Sean Saves the World.
The performance will be led by conductor Steve Reineke and also feature vocalist Aaron Lazar.
