- A.D. Players presents A Texas Carol at the George Theater | Wednesday, November 22 | Ongoing – This holiday take is back by popular demand. It’s the story of the Dinkel family, gathering at Mee-Maw Jane’s East Texas ranch for what could be her very last Christmas. But when the first family guests arrive, they find she’s already gone. Can they keep her death a secret from everyone else and keep up the holiday spirit? This production runs through Saturday, December 23. $25 and up. Showtimes vary.
- Houston Ballet presents The Nutcracker at Wortham Center | Friday, November 24 | Ongoing – This dazzling production of the beloved ballet recounts the story of Clara, gifted a magical nutcracker one Christmas Eve, and the adventures she encounters in the Land of Sweets. See why Tchaikovsky’s score has captivated audiences around the world for more than a century. This production runs through Wednesday, December 27. $30 and up. Showtimes vary.
- Jesus Christ Superstar at the Grand 1894 Opera House | Saturday, November 25 – The classic roots rock musical brings two performances to Galveston as part of the show’s 50th anniversary tour. The award-winning Broadway production from Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber recounts the series of events during the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ, seen through the eyes of Judas. $34.20 and up. 3pm and 8pm.
- Music Box Theater presents Duets Series: Brad & Rebekah at Queensbury Theatre | Sunday, November 26 – The Music Box regulars team up for a show that blends Broadway, rock and other genres. This new addition to Music Box’s repertoire launches with this performance. $38 and up. 5pm.
- Performing Arts Houston presents Dirty Dancing in Concert at Wortham Center | Sunday, November 26 – See the beloved 1980s movie like you’ve never seen it before. As a remastered film plays on screen, a full band plays the the score and singers perform the classic songs. Relive the magic of romance in this story about the idealistic Baby and the love and loyalty she finds in Catskills dance instructor Johnny Castle. $59 and up. 7pm.
