Rip. at The Gordy | Wednesday to Sunday | Ongoing – Stages’ new artistic director Derek Charles Livingston directs this world premiere by Maggie Lou Rader that takes place amid the London Match Women labor movement and the Jack the Ripper murders of 1888, where main characters Em, Liza and Nana are endeavoring to make the East End safer for women and all working people. $25 and up. Noel Coward’s Private Lives at Alley Theatre | Wednesday to Sunday | Ongoing – Sparks fly when a divorced couple suddenly find themselves honeymooning in the same spot in an updated version of the comedy classic. $33+. Times vary.

Comedian JR De Guzman: Boyfriend Material at Houston Improv | Thursday to Sunday – The Filipino-born, California-raised comic with a guitar, known for delighting audiences of all backgrounds, brings his set to HTX for 6 shows over 4 nights. $37.58+. Times vary

Evening in The Promenade at The San Luis Resort | Friday & Saturday | No Cover | Ongoing – Sip, savor, and soak in seaside serenity with live music, seasonal cocktails, and tasty appetizers at the Galveston resort. Future dates available. 4pm to 7pm both nights.

Comedian KC Shornima at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday & Saturday – A former Saturday Night Live writer for Weekend Update, the Austin-based comedian arrives for 3 live shows in Montrose. $31+. Times vary.

Blooming Wonders Immersive Exhibition at Artechouse Houston in The Heights | Daily | Ongoing – Explore an immersive, climate-controlled digital garden where art, technology, and nature converge—including your augmented reality cocktails. Drunk Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet at the Emerald Theater | Daily | Extended – See the Bard’s tale like never before, when one of the lead actors takes 5 shots of whiskey before launching into the tale of the star-crossed lovers. Future dates available. $49+. Times vary.

Lil Baby in Concert at Toyota Center – The Atlanta-based rapper and singer-songwriter—known for his hits “My Dawg”, “Band4Band”, “Freestyle” and more—brings his Wham World Tour to the home of the Rockets, joined by BigXthaPlug and Loe Shimmy. $76+. 7pm.

Mount Eerie in Concert at The Heights Theater – The musical project of Washington-born folk songwriter and producer Phil Elverum, best known for “A Crow Looked at Me” and releasing his music on his own DIY record labels hits the Heights stage. Dagmar Zuniga joins the show. $35.56+ 8pm.

Viral Comedy Variety Show at Drift | No Cover – Houston comic Rich Williams hosts a weekly night of comedy in the heart of The Heights, complete with fresh commentary on new videos pulled off social media, a curated open mic contest ($100 weekly; and $400 monthly prizes), standup performances by regional and nationally touring comics, karaoke, DJ vibes, and more. 9pm to 11pm.

Yappy Hour at Hotel Lucine | No Cover – Galveston’s beachfront boutique hotel welcomes 4-legged friends and pups to the pergola, for the monthly First Thursday happy hour. 3pm to 6pm.

Granville Wine Dinner at Mutiny in The Heights – Enjoy a 5-course wine dinner featuring vinos from Oregon’s Willamette Valley paired with tasty dishes at an evening hosted by Granville Cofounder Ayla Holstein. $175. 6:30pm.

Park After Dark at Discovery Green | FREE – The park, including fountains, stay open late for all ages fun, starting off with line dancing with Gretchen “The Legend” Jean and party music by DJ Boom Boom Williams. Bumper boats and LED kayaks are available for rental. 7pm to 10pm.

The Omies, Left of West, Yay Hi & The Soft Wear in Concert at Axelrad – The Attic hosts a ticketed night Indie rock-fueled night from Houston’s finest. $10+. 7pm to late.

Noche Latina at Home Run Dugout | FREE – The evening starts with a free 1-hour salsa lesson, followed by a night of dancing under the stars. 7pm to midnight. 

Wigs & Wit at The Secret Group – The touring live show hosted by Jeff Klein pits 3 comics against 3 drag queens—entertaining crowds and judging each other. In the international competition, comedians and queens trade off, and weigh in on each other’s sets. The winning comic and queen face off in a final battle with the queen delivering a comedy set, and the comic lip synching for the final win. $26. 8pm.

The Wheel Workers in Concert at Black Magic Social Club – The Wheel Workers headline a night of music at the rock, metal and punk occult bar in the East End. The Nerve Curlers and Only Beast open. 8pm to 2am.

TC Superstar in Concert at Shoeshine Charley’s Big Top Lounge – Austin’s eclectic indie darlings blend dance and music for poppy results. d.e.y. and Cactus Flowers open. $10; $15 day of. 8:30pm. 

Vitacca Ballet: Launch at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – Kick off your summer with a curated evening of dynamic contemporary ballet from internationally renowned choreographers—Garrett Smith, Ethan Colangelo, Hélène Simoneau—plus Houston native, Alana Jones. 8:30pm.

Kinky Boots Movie Screening at Market Square Park | FREE – Gearing up for Pride month, the Downtown park shows the 2005 film musical (PG-13) about a man who inherits his dad’s shoe factory and the drag queen who helps save it by shaking up the product line. 8:30pm.

Young Nudy in Concert at House of Blues – The Atlanta rapper brings his Come to My World Tour to the Downtown music hall. $35+. 7pm.

Forever Miles in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – H-Town’s funky alternative-indie rock’ n roll outfit, created by brothers Andy and AJ performs on the upstairs stage, with Dem Roots and Redefining Rescue. $16.20. 7pm.

Opening Night: The Big Show 2025 at Lawndale Art Center | FREE – Now in its 41st year, the Lawndale’s super-sized annual exhibition showcases new works by artists practicing within a 100-mile radius of the art space. 7pm to 9pm.

Mixers & Elixirs: ’90s Night at HMNS – Get your 1990s fix with cocktails, dancing, and revelry inside the Houston Museum of Natural Science, with throwback tunes by DJ P. Charm and DJ Griffin, a screening of Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion (1997), and more. $25; $20 members. 7pm to 11pm.

ETNL Summer Series: Swimwear Department in Concert at Meow Wolf: Radio Tave– Houston’s own indie pop-quartet, who’ve made quite the reputation singing and rocking songs about swimming pools and mall culture, perform at Houston’s most out of this world venue. $42+ includes Meow Wolf admission. 8pm.

KPFT’s 55th Birthday Celebration with Rodney Crowell, Guy Forsyth & 78 Special at The Heights Theater – Local indie radio station, 90.1 FM, marks a diamond anniversary plus 5 with a live show. 64.50+. 8pm.

Bossa Nova Under the Stars Concert at Marriott Marquis Houston – Groove to hits like Sérgio Mendes’ “Mas Que Nada”, Antonio Carlos Jobim’s “Corcovado” and “Desafinado”, and familiar hits reimagined in a jazzy Brazilian style at Houston’s biggest, most spectacular rooftop venue. Hang out after the show to enjoy the vibes. $45. 8pm. 

The Short & Sweet Speakeasy: A Sexy Burlesque Show at AvantGarden – Take in a live 90-minute burlesque show featuring local talents and a special guest in elaborate costumes, high production quality and more. Future dates available. $35 includes your first drink. 8pm and 10pm.

Axelsad Emo Night at Alexrad | FREE – Dive deep into your emo roots with Paramore cover band Final Riot, Blink 281 (you get it) and the sounds of DJ Jacob Calle. Plus, indulge in Emo Karaoke in the front lobby. 8pm to 1am.

Yellow Claw DJ Set at Stereo Live – The Dutch DJ and producer duo descend on HTX, bringing their blend of trap, hip hop, dubstep, hardstyle and moombahton along for the trip. $40.28. 10pm to 2am.

Bynx DJ Set at Bauhaus – The Los-Angeles based DJ and hip hop producer lands on the Downtown stacks with his signature genre-defying sound in tow. $12.46+. 10pm to 2am.

Houston Cat Expo at Bad Astronaut Brewing Co. – Meet kittens and cats looking for their forever homes, get free treats for your own furballs, shop for goods from local vendors, take in live music, and more. $25. Noon to 5pm.

Loco for Coconuts at Truck Yard Houston | No Cover – EaDo social central hosts a Hawaiian celebration complete with a pig roast, hulu show, fire dancer, live music, and crack-your-own-coconut-drinks. Grass skirts encouraged. Noon to midnight.

Bunnies on the Bayou: Bunnies in Heat at The Montrose Country Club – The LGBTQ+ nonprofit launches into Pride season with a pool party at the Montrose party establishment and private pool, benefiting 12 local gay nonprofits. $25. 1pm to 6pm.

Dualities: The Art of Two Opening Reception at Archway Gallery | FREE – Check out new works by Barbara Able and Rhonda Radford Adams in a paired exhibition highlighting their paintings and creation. Vino, refreshments and free valet provided. 5pm to 8pm; 6:30pm artist talk.  

Texas Monthly‘s Taco Fest South at Discovery Green Texas’ signature magazine throws its first-ever taco blowout, slinging out tacos, tunes, and top-tier vibes. Sample bites from 15 of the best taco spots featured in the magazine’s “50 Best Tacos in Texas” list. $50, $20 ages 6 to 12; $75 VIP. 5:30pm to 8:30pm.

One Step Closer in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The straight edge melodic hardcore band from Pennsylvania plays White Oak’s upstairs stage in support of their latest album, All You Embrace. $26.95. 6pm.

Bingo Loco: The Ultimate Bingo Party at Noto – Experience the bingo rave complete with comedian MCs, throwback anthems, lip sync battles, dance-offs, dancers, confetti showers, CO2 cannons, rave rounds, conga lines, and more at the EaDo hotspot. Future dates available. $35. 6pm. 

Rooted in Resilience Reception at Silver Street Studios | FREE – Check out contemporary artist Lenice Colangelo’s artistic perspective on women’s resilience in the face of life’s many challenges. 6pm to 8pm.

Kam Franklin’s: Gemini Hours: A Birthday Celebration & Kickstarter Kickoff at Winter Street Studios | FREE – Celebrate Kam Franklin’s big day and help fund her debut solo album, Land of the Neon Sun, with a live performance at Outspoken Bean’s Clothespins & Storylines Fresh Arts residence. Other Geminis can expect immersive surprises throughout. 6pm to 9pm.

Neil Tye: The Things We Carry Opening Reception at Redbud Arts Center | FREE – The Heights gallery debuts an exhibition featuring the Denmark-based artist Tye, with a background in both visual arts and physical theatre. 6pm to 9pm.

Candlelight Concert: Best of Bridgerton on Strings at Resurrection MCC – Surrounded by the soft glow of candlelight, be immersed in earworm melodies from Shondaland’s Bridgerton on Netflix, reimagined by the Listeso String Quartet ensemble. Future dates available. $33 and up. 6:30pm and 8:30pm.

36th Annual Accordion Kings & Queens at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – The summer tradition returns to celebrate the accordion—an instrument deeply woven into Texas’ diverse folk traditions, from polka and conjunto to zydeco and beyond. 7pm. 

Comedian Shayne Smith at Bad Astronaut Brewing Co. – Known for his 1-hour special PrisonforWizards, which garnered 32 million views on YouTube and Facebook, the comic performs 1 stand up set at the Hardy Yards brewery. $25 advance; $35 day of. 7pm.

A Goonies Game Night at Eureka Heights Brewing Co. – Nerdtropolis hosts an epic game night celebrating 40 years of underground caves, pirate ships, and truffle shuffles with a bingo-trivia mashup of bingo and trivia. $25.09. 7pm to 9pm. 

Strand Summer Series Live Music: Dandy Wellington & His Band at Saengerfest Park | FREE – Coinciding with the annual vintage beach revue weekend, jazz bandleader and entertainer leads a live, buttoned-up concert packed with style and substance in Historic Downtown Galveston. VIP options available. 7pm to 9pm.

Constant Companions Film Screening at The Menil Collection – Coinciding with Animals, Monsters, and Creatures from the Collection, the museum and Aurora Picture Show present a curated program of short films observing the ever-evolving role animals play in daily life. 7:30pm.

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – The creator and star of the massive TV sensation “about nothing” brings his latest takes and observations to The Woodlands stage. $91+. 8pm.

Alejandro Escovedo in Concert at The Heights Theater – The 74-year old country rocker from San Antone brings his guitar to the Heights in support of his latest album, Echo Dancing. Aaron Lee Tajsan opens. $31.79. 8pm.

Mighty Orq in Concert at Goode Company Armadillo Palace –The Mighty Orq brings his bayou blues and gritty folk storytelling to the Upper Kirby stage., $15+. 8pm.

Satan Said Dance: LCD Soundsystem Tribute at Axelrad | FREE – The Y2K Indie Sleaze Party returns to the main stage with a Tribute to LCD Soundsystem by Glich3, including tunes by MGMT, Two Door Cinema, The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and more. 8pm to 1am.

Kennedy Ryon in Concert at The Secret Group – The R&B soul singer known for “Baby Mama Drama”, “B.A.N”, and “Ego” performs live in the Box in EaDo. $26.13. 8:30pm.

Candlelight Concert: Rings & Dragons at The Bell Tower on 34th – The Listeso String Quartet performs stirring and memorable movements from the scores of The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones by the glow of candlelight in the Heights. Future dates available. $59+. 9pm.

David Garza in Concert at Shoeshine Charley’s Big Top Lounge – The 2-time Grammy-winner and Austin Music Hall of Fame rocker returns for his first show at the Big Top in 8 years. $15. 9pm.

Season Home Closer: Houston SaberCats vs Anthem RC at SaberCats Stadium – Cheer on Houston’s professional rugby team in their final home match of the season, facing off against the mugs of Anthem Rugby Carolina. $25. 7pm.

Comics Herman Wrice & Aaron Branch: The Dysfunctional Friends Tour at Punch Line Houston – The comics out of Philly and Kansas City, each with their own histories of comedy accolades and sharing time on YouTube’s The Kevin Langue Show, break down their friendship live on stage to the audience’s delight. $34+. 7pm.

Sip, Stack N’ Savor at Nosh – Enjoy good vibes, tasty bites, refreshing drinks, and tunes by DJ Slayz, while building Lego sets and connecting with fellow creatives and grown-ups who just want to play again. $30. 7pm.

Los Amigos Invisibles in Concert at The Heights Theater – The Venezuelan band which blends disco, acid jazz and funk with Latin rhythms—lauded internationally for their explosive live shows in almost 60 countries—wrap up the weekend with a bang. $44.64+. 8pm.
