Touch down with the family at Hobby Airport for fun activities, tasty food, music, and prizes at the free HobbyFest 2019 on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 10am to 4pm.
The 27th Annual HobbyFest swings open the hangar doors of a usually closed-to-the-public area of Hobby Airport for a lively, free daytime event that’s fun for the whole family.
Guests can enjoy complimentary food and drink (for the first 1,000 attendees) from multiple food trucks, a rock climbing wall, inflatable fun, DJ tunes, and an up close and personal look at both vintage and modern aircraft, emergency vehicles, and more.
Stick around and you’ll also have a chance to win raffle prizes, including plane tickets and gift cards, as well as take-home goodie bags from vendor booths.
Kids’ Fun, Games & Activities
From face painting to princess makeovers and more, there’s no shortage of free activities for kids in attendance.
Boy Scouts will even have the opportunity to acquire a variety of merit badges during the event, including aviation, crime prevention, emergency preparedness, and fire safety & prevention.
Admission is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item or infant essential (diapers, baby shampoo, wipes, and other toiletries), to be distributed by the Hobby Area Rotary Club. This year’s proceeds from event sponsorships will take the form of scholarships, benefitting local students in aviation, public affairs, and transportation-related fields.
HobbyFest 2019 will take place rain or shine. But don’t worry if the weather’s not perfect — most activities take place in the shelter of an airplane hangar.
