Sip heavenly hot tea laced with fragrant spices at Afternoon High Tea on Kiran’s Restaurant on Westheimer every Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm.

High Tea at Kiran’s features four delectable teas, all paired with luscious pastries and savory morsels from Chef Kiran Verma’s scratch kitchen. Tea is accompanied by ladyfinger sandwiches, including English cucumber with cream cheese and mint; salmon with capers, chives and dill; and mango chicken salad, all served on housemade brioche with a side of garlic baby bella with spinach.

A sampling of tea pairings includes Kiran’s Daughter Chai paired with aloo and cashew samosas with tamarind chutney; Lover’s Leap Orange Pekoe with tandoori salmon with cranberry chutney; and Margaret’s Hope Darjeeling paired with scones, jam and clotted cream.

High Tea commences with a sparkling wine toast, and concludes with a cup of Earl Grey laced with a splash of Grand Marnier.

She mixes Earl Grey, Borengajuli, Keyhung, Lover’s Leap Orange Pekoe and Margaret’s Hope Darjeeling teas with green and black cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and black peppercorn to create a distinctive Masala Chai with flowery flavors and orange pekoe hints. The tea can also be purchased to go. Four ounces are $12 and eight ounces are $20.
