Join Houstonians of all ages as they launch their flying kites into the sky above Miller Hill and the Jones Reflecting Pool at the Hermann Park Kite Festival on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 10am to 5pm.
Kites of all shapes, sizes and make will take to the skies at Hermann Park’s first-ever kite festival. The event is being introduced as part of the park’s yearlong 100th anniversary celebration and is expected to become a staple event of spring in the years to come.
A showcase of the event will be the aerial acrobatics of the South Houston Area Recreational Kiters (the SHARKs) who will exhibit their stunt flying skills and choreographed kite mastery.
In addition to skies painted with kites, you can enjoy stilt-walkers, puppeteers, magicians, juggles, ribbon dancers, student performers, a kids’ zone and more.
