Post your photos of Houston street scenes to Instagram using #HCAFstreet before 11:59pm on Friday, November 7, 2014 for a chance to win $600 passes to the Houston Cinema Arts Festival and a showing of your winning photo at the Brandon Gallery.
Houston Cinema Arts Festival is happening from November 12 to 16, 2014 and event organizers are inviting Houston instagrammers to submit their own local photos for inclusion in HCAF’s “Street Scenes” street photography exhibition.
Top winning photographers will be awarded passes to HCAF and their works will feature the works of noted visual guest artists James Nares, Ken Jacobs, Jem Cohen and Cheryl Dunn. The artists are primarily known for work depicted the streets of New York. “Street Scenes: Street Photography and the Moving Image” exhibit.
The #HCAFstreet contest will give the vibrant Houston street photography community a chance to add their own images to the exhibition.
Winners of #HCAFstreet will be selected by Cheryl Dunn, who will launch the “Street Scenes” exhibition with a screening of her film Everybody Street on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. The first place winner will be recognized at the launch and receive two All-Access Passes to the festival, valued at $600 apiece. Second place will receive two Weekend Passes ($150 apiece). Remaining finalists will receive two One-Day Screening Passes ($80 apiece).
Contest Guidelines
Post an image on Instagram of a scene taking place on any city street in Houston. Images can depict people, street art, objects or any scene that occurs in a Houston street. Share the image on Instagram and tag it with #HCAFstreet. Submissions will be accepted until the contest ends on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 11:59pm. Click here to read the full regulations.
