Take in a public program with a lecture by glaciologist Kurt Cuffey at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston on Saturday, September 10, 2016.
Held in conjunction with Jae Ko’s Flow installation, Cuffey will give his personal account of how glacial themes of movement, beauty, and change inspire artists like Ko.
Cuffey will discuss several major areas of ongoing scientific inquiry concerning the dynamics of glaciers, their effect on landscapes, and their relation to climate. Seating is limited for this free to attend event.
Jae Ko’s Flow sculpture is on view downstairs in the Contemporary Art Museum’s Zilkha Gallery through Sunday, September 18, 2016.
