- 2023 Culture Camp for Kids: Manga Pop at Asia Society Texas Center | Monday, July 10 to Friday, July 14 – All skill levels are welcome at this week-long kids camp at Asia Society where campers will learn to create their own comics inspired by the Japanese manga style. - Up Movie Screening at the Woodlands Mall | Thursday, July 13 | FREE – Catch a free outdoor screening of the beloved Pixar film, Up (2009, PG). Carl Fredricksen is looking to live out his dream after the love of his life passes by moving to Paradise Falls, but a care free wilderness explorer accidentally finds himself along for the adventure. 7pm.
- Bastille Day at Rice Stadium | Friday, July 14 – The French American Chamber of Commerce hosts this celebration of France’s national holiday. There will be rosé tastings for adults, plus food vendors, music performances, and an array of sporting events in a nod to the 2024 Paris Olympics. $15 for adults; free for ages 12 and under. 6pm to 10pm.
- Celebrate Miller: An Evening Of Imagination! at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday, July 14 & Saturday, July 15 | FREE – Bring the family for an evening of imagination and performance with interactive puppet shows, magicians, a collaborative mural and more—including photo ops with a larger-than-life birthday cake. Plus, stick around on both nights for a special Theatre Under the Stars program celebrating Houston with the iconic sounds of Broadway. 6:30pm; TUTS concert starts at 8:30pm.
- 10th Annual Ohana Surf Dog Competition in Galveston | Saturday, July 15 | FREE – This 10th edition returns to 27th and Seawall, where dogs compete on surf boards, and awards are given based on ride length, technique, confidence, and any tricks performed. Proceeds help support the mission of Galveston Island Humane Society. Free to watch; $25 to register a dog. 8am to noon.
- 15th Anniversary Celebration at Pearland Town Center | Saturday, July 15 | FREE – The shopping and dining destination in Pearland turns 15 and everyone is invited to celebrate with a full day of family-friendly fun, games and discounts. Take in appearances by popular characters, have fun at a story time and bubble party, learn to play Pokémon, and more. 10am to 4pm.
- Summer Jam 2023 at Moody Center for the Arts | Saturday, July 15 | FREE – The Rice University arts gallery is transformed for Summer Jam, offering an indoor farmers market, hot food vendors, art activities, face painters, the Texas Bubblers and gallery tours. Free; $6 for parking. Noon to 5pm.
