  • Sensory Friendly Day at Children’s Museum Houston | Monday, April 24 – Children with autism spectrum disorder and their families are invited to experience the Children’s Museum with dimmed lights, limited extra sounds, and no distracting motions during this special event. $7. 10am to 3pm.
  • Toddler Tuesday: We’re Different, We’re the Same at Discovery Green | Tuesday, April 25 | FREE – This weekly toddler event features appearances by Bert and Ernie of Sesame Street, as well as soft play equipment from Toddler Towns. 10:30am to 12:30am.
  • Three Billy Goats Gruff at the Grand 1894 Opera House | Thursday, April 27 | FREE – In Galveston, this lively and colorful musical production for young audiences features 9 foot–tall body puppets and a host of other characters from the internationally acclaimed Bits ‘n’ Pieces Puppet Theatre. $10; $6 for kids. 10am.
  • Candlelight Concert: Favorite Anime Themes at Lone Star Flight Museum | Thursday, April 27 – A collection of local musicians take to Lone Star’s hangar for a night of themes from classic anime series like Cowboy Bebop, Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon and more. $45 and up. 7pm.
  • Houston Dash vs. North Carolina Courage at Shell Energy Stadium | Friday, April 28 – Watch our hometown girls battle it out on the pitch, goal to goal for an exciting night of soccer. $10 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Baby Day 2023 at the Health Museum | Saturday, April 29 | FREE – Giggle along with the littles in your life at this family event designed to delight the sweet baby in your life. Baby Day connects parents and caregivers to critical early learning resources and experiences that will improve the futures of our tiny humans. The event includes educational activities such as story time, music and movement, arts and crafts, caregiver classes, and more. 8am to 5pm.
  • 67th Annual Sylvan Beach Festival in La Porte | Saturday, April 29 – The daylong festival happens beachside on the shores of Sylvan Beach Park in La Porte, kicking off with the annual parade at 10am. The day will feature carnival rides, food vendors, live music, inflatables, an artisan vendor market, and more. As the sun sets, a slate of country concerts gets underway, featuring Wade Bowen, Stoney LaRue, and Larry Fleet. $15; $5 for ages 62+; free for ages 12 and under. 9am to 11pm.
  • Conroe KidzFest at Heritage Park | Saturday, April 29 | FREE – Have a blast at this free family fun event in downtown Conroe. The fest offers a variety of activities like interactive villages, stage acts and hands-on fun for each member of the family. 10am to 4pm.
  • The Grand Kids Festival in Downtown Galveston | Saturday, April 29 | FREE – Hosted in the Cultural Arts District of Downtown Galveston, this family festival from the Grand 1894 Opera House features a full day of fine arts for kids, along with hands-on projects, dance performances, shows, inflatables, a petting zoo, pony rides and more. 10am to 5pm.
  • 18th Annual Frida Festival at MECA | Saturday, April 29 | FREE – Celebrate all things Frida Kahlo at a Sixth Ward festival featuring lively music, performances, vendors, food trucks, and plenty of people dressed up as one of Mexico’s most beloved and legendary artists. 11am to 7pm.
  • Spring Festival at Czech Center Museum Houston | Saturday, April 29 | FREE – All afternoon, the Czech Center Museum hosts a cultural festival with plenty of Czech eats and drinks, live music, folk dance performances, a kolache eating contest, and fun kids’ activities. Noon to 5pm.
  • Minions: The Rise of Gru Movie Screening at First Colony Mall | Saturday, April 29 | FREE – Bring your blankets, grab your family and friends, and catch a hilarious film on the lawn. This week, laugh along with Gru and his minions as he goes on the run from an evil group of supervillians called the Vicious 6. This movie is rated PG. 2pm.
  • Festival of Eid at Asia Society Texas Center | Saturday, April 29 | FREE – Mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan at this Asia Society festival that features outdoor food trucks and delicious eats, as well as craft activities, henna designs, musical performances and an indoor bazaar where you can shop local artists and small businesses. Pre-registration is required. 4pm to 8pm.
  • RailFest: All Aboard Model Train Rally at Galveston Railroad Museum | Saturday, April 29 & Sunday, April 30 | FREE – Take a deep dive into the world of locomotives with this celebration of all things trains, including large-sized model trains, entertainment, rides, vendors and more. Train rides on the Harborside Express are $8 and run throughout both days. Admission to the festival is $20; $15 for ages 16 and under; free for ages 4 and under. 10am to 5pm.
  • Sunday Funday: H-Town Proud at M-K-T in the Heights | Sunday, April 30 | FREE – Rep your H-Town pride at this afternoon marketplace where you can sip, vibe and shop local with live DJs, vendor pop-ups and giveaways, unique promos and more. Noon to 4pm.
