Circle these dates for almost 50 of this season’s biggest fall festivals coming to Greater Houston—showcasing music, art, food, cultures, and more—from Friday, October 11 through Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2024. 

With cooler weather comes a bustling festival season throughout Houston; every month bringing a new slate of outdoor fun and cultural festivities.

We’ve gathered some of the city’s best festivals we’ve come to know and love over the years, as well as special events taking place across the city.

  • 35th Annual Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival in Downtown Conroe | Friday, October 11 to Sunday, October 13 – The family-friendly Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival features three days of live music with local, regional and national performers on three stages, food vendors offering festival and Cajun favorites, arts and crafts vendors, a professional carnival, assorted community and educational exhibits, an annual Catfish Pageant, and more. $15 and up; free for ages 12 and under. Times vary.
  • Bayou City Art Festival at Memorial Park | Friday, October 11 to Sunday, October 13 – The twice annual Bayou City Art Festival returns to Memorial Park for two days of art shopping and showcases by more than 220 national and international artists. Plus, you can stroll the craft beer and boutique wine gardens, participate in a community art project and take in live performances. Tickets start at $20 and $5 for children 6 to 12. 10am to 6pm each day.
  • Houston Country, Folk & Red Dirt Festival at Pearland Town Center | Saturday, October 12 – Enjoy CMA, Grammy Award, and Billboard Top 10 artists performing live on the main stage, plus artists and crafters, a farmers fresh market, and craft beer, and wines at this Clear Lake music festival. Tickets are $7; Children 12 and under get in free. 11am to 9pm.
  • Fall Festival at Baybrook Mall | Saturday, October 12 | FREE – The Lawn at Baybrook Mall will be filled with fall games, DIY Halloween Luminaries, tunes from the local School of Rock, and delicious pies from Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop. Noon to 2pm.
  • Ghost Coast Festival at League-Kempner House | Saturday, October 12 – Held at the League Kempner Mansion, this family-friendly event features a vendor market, panels, speakers, paranormal investigations, ghost tours, psychic readings, kids activities, entertainment and more. There will also be optional events like pub crawls, tours, and more on Friday and Sunday. Tickets are $25. Noon to 9pm.
  • Barktoberfest at The Powder Keg | Saturday, October 12 | FREE – The pet and family-friendly Barktoberfest will feature a celebrity-judged dog costume contest, food trucks, spooky cocktails, a vendor market selling pet products and more. 2pm to 6pm.
  • 15th Annual Korean Festival at Discovery Green | Saturday, October 12 & Sunday, October 13 | FREE – Celebrating 15 years, the Korean Festival showcases the best of Korean food, music, performing arts, and culture in Downtown. Saturday 10am to 9pm; Sunday 11am to 8pm.
  • 40th Annual Galveston Greek Festival at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church | Saturday, October 12 & Sunday, October 13 | FREE – For the fortieth year, the 2-day Galveston Greek Festival will celebrate Hellenic culture at Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church. The lively party channels the Greek islands with authentic food, wines, beer, pastries, dance performances,  and commemorative items. Saturday 11am to 7pm; Sunday noon to 5pm.
  • Oktoberfest at Bad Astronaut Brewing | Saturday, October 12 & Sunday, October 13 | FREE  This festive celebration of Oktoberfest includes live music, local markets, and authentic German-style food. Saturday 2pm to 10pm; Sunday noon to 6pm.
  • 50th Annual Texas Renaissance Festival in Todd Mission | Saturday, October 12 to Sunday, December 1 – Back for its 50th year, the annual Renaissance Fair offers a whole fall of reveling in the enchanted worlds of kings and queens, knights, fairies and elves, with unique themes, crowd-pleasing performances, and delicious eats. Costumes are encouraged and you can shop unique crafts, leather goods, clothing and more. Ticket prices vary by weekend, but advance tickets are generally $29; $15 for ages 5 to 12. 9am to 8pm each day.
  • Love Street Music Fest 2024 at Karbach Brewing Co. | Sunday, October 13 – Get your groove on and enjoy live performances from St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Night Cap, and more at the Love Music Fest in the Karbach Biergarten. Tickets start at $50. 4pm to 10pm.

  • Indigenous Peoples’ Day: A Celebration of All Nations at The Water Works | Monday, October 14 | FREE  Presented by Xochipilli Collective, this celebration invites people of all backgrounds to recognize the sovereignty and resilience of Indigenous nations, featuring cultural performances, vendors, foods, and music. 5pm to 8:30pm. 
  • 20th Annual Wine Walk at Market Street | Thursday, October 17  The popular Wine Walk returns to The Woodlands with more than 50 wine-tasting tents, 40+ craft beer selections, and dozens of culinary offerings from area restaurants as well as live music, photo ops, and more. Tickets range from $79 to $135. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Buffalo Bayou Mural Festival at Headquarters Houston | Friday, October 18 to Sunday, October 20 | FREE – Marvel at live mural art painting presentations and enjoy vendors, a classic car show, food, drinks, and more at the family-friendly, Buffalo Bayou Mural Festival. Friday 8pm to 11pm; Saturday 1pm to midnight; Sunday 10am to 6pm.
  • Artoberfest in Historic Downtown Galveston | Saturday, October 19 & Sunday, October 20 – Shop for one-of-a-kind art, jewelry, and home decor from over 100 artist booths at Galveston’s The Grand 1894 Opera House. Tickets are $5. Saturday 10am to 5pm; Sunday 10am to 4pm. 
  • Houston Filipino Street Festival at Constellation Field | Saturday, October 19 – Celebrate the Philippines and local Filipino culture at this family-friendly festival in Sugar Land that presents traditions, live performances and street food in an embrace of cultural diversity. Tickets are $17 and up; free for ages 7 and under. Noon to 7pm.
  • Fall FunFest at Carl Barton Jr. Park | Saturday, October 19 FREE – The City of Conroe invites families to enjoy pony rides, face painting, a petting zoo, and much more to celebrate autumn. 11am to 2pm.
  • SpringStock Fall Fest ’24 at Saint Arnold Brewing Company | Saturday, October 19  This all-ages local music festival brings together some of Houston’s best local artists and vendors for a day full of live music, art, food, and of course, plenty of beer for the adults. 12pm to 10pm. 
  • 3rd Annual Dia de los Muertos Celebration at Sugar Land Town Square | Saturday, October 19 | FREE – Take in traditional mariachi and ballet folklórico performances, Aztec dancers, Hispanic cuisine and more at this annual festival in Sugar Land for the whole family. Noon to 5pm.
  • Houston Diwali at Levy Park | Saturday, October 19 | FREE  The festival of lights will feature live music, a Diwali Bazaar fashion show, cultural performances, Henna, and street foods at Levy Park. 5pm to 9pm. 
  • Road Trip! Bastrop Art Fest at Lost Pines Art Center in Downtown Bastrop | Saturday, October 19 | FREE  Stroll the streets of historic Downtown Bastrop at the annual fall art festival, where you’ll join the town’s artist and craft community, try your own hand at art-making, shops works on display, and enjoy family festivities with games and kids activities. 11am to 5pm.
  • Japanese Sake & Food Festival Houston 2024 at Post Houston | Saturday, October 19 & Sunday, October 20 – Indulge in a variety of local dishes paired with premium sake from renowned breweries at Post Houston. Tickets are $45. Saturday Noon to 4pm and 5pm to 9pm; Sunday 2pm to 6pm.
  • Fort Bend Diwali in Sugar Land Town Square | Sunday, October 20 | FREE with RSVP – Join in a lively cultural extravaganza featuring a live performance by international hip hop sensation MC Yogi, in his first-ever show in Houston. Expect tasty Indian street food, a selection of stunning Indian jewelry, vibrant Indian traditions and more. RSVP for free tickets required. 3:30pm to 7:30pm.

  • 8th Annual Hess Houston Corporate 5K at Memorial Park | Tuesday, October 22 to Thursday, October 24 – Houston’s largest office party returns what will be its biggest year yet, bringing offices and coworkers together for a 5K fun run/walk and after work outdoor happy hour event with refreshments, live entertainment, and more. Corporations are invited to bulk-register teams of 10, 20, or 50 entries; individual entries are $50. Daily 5pm to 8:30pm.
  • Houston Mediterranean Festival at St. George Orthodox Christian Church | Saturday, October 26  Originally started in the early ’80s and revived in 2023, the Houston Mediterranean Festival returns to St. George Orthodox Christian Church in West University, celebrating the region’s vibrant culture and flavors with a day of food, drinks, shopping, music, and more. Tickets are $5; free for ages 3 and under. 11am to 10:30pm.
  • 11th Annual Magnolia Park Dia de los Muertos Festival & Parade at Hidalgo Park | Saturday, October 26 | FREE – Houston’s First Barrio celebrates Día de los Muertos with a free festival and parade at Hidalgo Park in Second Ward, including food, kids activities, cultural performances and live music. 11am to 5pm.
  • Houston AfriFest at Houston Christian University | Saturday, October 26  Drawing thousands from across the city, this annual fest celebrates the continent of Africa with a market featuring local and international vendors, and showcasing the arts, music, fashion and foods from across the region. $10; free for ages 12 and under, students, seniors and veterans. 11am to 7pm.
  • 5th Annual Hike, Bike & Fright Fest at M-K-T in the Heights | Saturday, October 26 | FREE – All ages can get into the spooky spirit with an afternoon of kid- and pet-friendly trick or treating, Halloween cocktails, a HalloGreen edition of the Houston Plant Market, special giveaways, and shopping deals, live DJs and entertainment, performers, and more. Noon to 6pm.
  • Elissa’s 147th Birthday Party at Galveston Historic Seaport | Saturday, October 26 – Celebrate the grand old lady, the “Official Tall Ship of Texas”, at the 1877 Elissa annual birthday party, complete with complimentary craft beer from Saint Arnold Brewing, food, custom birthday cake, live music from Houston’s Buxton, and a shipload of fun with the good and festive folks from Galveston Historical Foundation. $65. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Wings Over Houston Airshow at Ellington Airport | Saturday, October 26 & Sunday, October 27  One of the top airshows in the nation, Wings Over Houston welcomes back the Blue Angels and showcases vintage World War II aircraft and modern aviation with soaring spectacles, reenactments, and high-flying aerobatics. Advance general admission tickets are $45, day of admission is $50. 8am to 5pm both days.
  • Day of the Dead Celebration at Kemah Boardwalk | Sunday, October 27 | FREE – Celebrate life and honor loved ones by immersing yourself in the festive spirit with a haunted house, trick-or-treating, lively music, and more. 1pm to 9pm. 
  • International Quilt Festival Houston at George R. Brown Convention Center | Thursday, October 31 to Sunday, November 3 – Join more than 55,000 quilting enthusiasts for a full week of classes, exhibits, networking, shopping, guest speakers and more at the International Quilt Festival in Downtown Houston. Tickets start at $15. Thursday 10am to 6pm; Friday 10am to 6pm; Saturday 10am to 6pm; Sunday 10am to 4pm.

Fall Festivals in November 2024

  • Night Market 2024 at Asia Society Texas Center | Friday, November 1  The popular annual event returns to the Museum District, offering a host of family-friendly activities including a curated marketplace, games and cultural installations, an Otaku Alley highlighting all things manga, anime and cosplay, a carnival, performances, and more. Free to attend, some activities require a ticket. 6pm to 10pm.
  • Día de los Muertos at Discovery Green | Friday, November 1 | FREE – Discovery Green park invites you to enjoy hands-on art activities, artist demos, vendors, cultural performances and music by Houston’s own Nick Gaitan, and a community altar by Houston artist Angel Quesada. 7pm to 10pm. 
  • Día de Los Muertos Family Movie Night: Coco & Community Ofrenda Unveiling at Trebly Park | Friday, November 1 | FREE – Experience a movie night under the stars with a screening of Disney’s CoCo, featuring character meet-and-greet, face painting, kids’ activities, and the unveiling on the community ofrenda. Attendees are encouraged to bring photos of loved ones and pets that have passed on to place on the ofrenda in their honor. 6pm. 
  • Hands-On Houston Fall Festival at HCCC | Saturday, November 2 | FREE  This year’s all ages fall festival celebrates HCCC’s Artist Residency Program through hands-on activities and craft demonstrations led by current and former resident artists. 11am to 3pm. 
  • Houston Dia De Muertos Parade & Festival at Sam Houston Park | Saturday, November 2 | FREE  The Día de los Muertos festival returns to Downtown, offering an evening of live music, a parade procession from 7pm to 8pm, delicious concessions, arts and crafts, and more. Free to participate in the parade, but traditional attire—full of pageantry and beauty—is recommended. 2pm to 10pm.
  • Dia de los Muertos Festival at City Place | Saturday, November 2 | FREE – Experience the spirit of Día de los Muertos with live performances from Bidi Bidi Banda, Austin’s first all-star Selena Tribute band, a mariachi band, and indigenous dance performance, food, family activities, and a community altar. 4pm to 8pm. 
  • The 24th Annual Día de Muertos Festival at MECA | Saturday, November 2 & Sunday, November 3 | FREE  In its 24th iteration, this vibrant celebration of art, community, and culture will take place at the Historic Dow School in Houston’s Old Sixth Ward. 11am to 8pm both days.

  • Annual Houston Cinema Arts Festival Around Houston | Thursday, November 7 to Sunday, November, 17 | Some FREE – The city’s annual festival celebrating the silver screen returns to theater spaces across Houston, screening and premiering short films and feature lengths from Houston and around the world, as well as providing special guest panels and workshop opportunities. Screenings are typically individually ticketed and sometimes free, but all-access passes start at $200. Times, locations and prices vary.
  • Igbo Fest Houston at Discovery Green | Saturday, November 9 | FREE – Experience West African traditional dances, cultural presentations, and jollof rice at the IGBO Fest in Downtown. 3pm to 10pm.
  • Puptopia Festival at Saint Arnold Brewing Company | Saturday, November 9 | FREE – Furry friends and their owners can come out to Saint Arnold Brewing Company and enjoy this special, doggie-centric day that includes entertainment, a dog day spa, PAWground activities, vendors, and a K-9 Lounge. 11am to 4pm.
  • 11th Annual Islamic Arts Festival at University of Houston Main Campus | Saturday, November 9 & Sunday, November 10 | FREE – The largest and oldest festival of Islamic arts in the U.S. moves from a suburban location to the heart of Houston for two days art shopping directly from 50 national artists, while enjoying live music, comedy, a film festival, interactive art sessions, ethnic foods for sale, live demonstrations on calligraphy, henna tattoos, ebru, painting, and a variety of children’s art activities. 10:30am to 5:30pm both days.
  • Native American Championship Pow Wow at Traders Village | Saturday, November 9 & Sunday, November 10 – This annual event draws Native and Indigenous people from across the country for back-to-back days of tribal dance displays, art, crafts, fry bread, and more. Free, but parking is $5. 11am to 4pm.
  • Depot Day Fall Fest at Tomball Depot Plaza | Saturday, November 16 | FREE – Tomball’s annual celebration is all about trains, featuring model railroads mixed with classic fall fair fun, old-fashioned country music, carnival games, a pumpkin patch, a kids’ zone and more. 11am to 6pm.
  • 2024 Zine Fest Houston at The Orange Show | Saturday, November 16 | FREE – ZineFest, a grassroots festival, gathers media creators from across the city to share their zines, mini-comics, and other forms of small press, alternative, underground, DIY media and art. Swing by Houston’s Orange Show for Visionary Art, shop, and find community. Noon to 6pm.
  • Sonoma County Wine Fest at Kemah Boardwalk | Saturday, November 16 – Uncork, unwind, and spend the day sampling over 72 wines from Sonoma County at Kemah Boardwalk. Enjoy small bites, live music, giveaways, and more. Tickets start at $59.95. 2pm to 5pm.
  • Tejano Music Super Fest at Kemah Boardwalk | Saturday, November 23 & Sunday, November 24 | FREE – Experience the vibrant sounds of live Tejano music from La Fiebre, South Texas Homies, live DJs, and more at this family-friendly music festival. Saturday 2pm to 8:30pm; Sunday 1pm to 9pm.
  • 75th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in Downtown | Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 28 | FREE – Get into the holiday spirit at the 75th Annual H-E-B Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade, a showcase of sensational floats, high-flying balloons, marching bands, artistic entries, and live entertainment through the streets of Downtown. 9am to 11am.
