Step into Endless Bummer—an out-of-this-realm tiki bar now open in Montrose

Raise a glass to the inevitable at Houston’s new tiki bar with a twist, Endless Bummer, tucked away in an intimate cross-dimension in the back of Betelgeuse Betelgeuse in Montrose.

Inspired by the space between death and vacation, Endless Bummer is a curious goth tropical purgatory—part Polynesian getaway, part underworld—where the best part of the song is always just about to play and the spirits of holidays past linger.

The bar-within-in-a-bar is a collab between owner Chris Cusack and local artist, Brian Dibala—widely known as Neon Thrash—who together transformed Betelgeuse Betelgeuse’s former spillover room into a destination all its own.

Art directed by Dibala, who also led the creation of Speaking in Dimensions inside Meow Wolf: Radio Tave, the familiar but otherworldly 700 sq. ft. space conceals a multitude of easter eggs, interactive elements, detailed dioramas, hidden doors, and more that draw from the tiki and occult worlds.

Curious Cocktail Culture

The vibe wouldn’t be complete without a compatible cocktail program, suitably inspired by truly excellent Mai Tais and tropical concoctions while simultaneously veering away from tiki bar traditions.

Endles Bummer’s beverage program will offer a menu featuring three-to-five rotating themes throughout the year—including but not limited to classic tropical and large format drinks, with THC and non-alcoholic options as well.

The debut drink menu includes the Brown Butter Rum Old Fashioned (a brown butter fat washed Planteray and Smith & Cross, rich paradise syrup, blended bitters), This Sunset Should be Illegal (legal Caribbean Cask Mezcal, acid-adjusted orange juice, orange liqueur lime punch syrup, fassionola), Pistachio Mai Tai (Probitas, El Dorado 8, and Hamilton 151 rums, house pistachio orgeat, orange liqueurs, lime, fire, pretty flower), Silver Surfer (Lalo Tequila, Italicus, cocchi Americano, lime oleo, creme de cacao, orange bitters, glitter and light), and more.

Endless Bummer can only be found inside Betelgeuse Betelgeuse’s Montrose Boulevard location.
