To celebrate the new $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu at McDonald’s, they’re bringing beloved Mexican sitcom character El Chapulín Colorado to the US. Fans will have the unique opportunity to meet El Chapulín Colorado at an in-restaurant event that’s only happening in Houston’s East End. That’s right. Only at the 6815 Harrisburg Boulevard McDonald’s in Houston.
The in-restaurant giveaway, taking place at the 48 locations listed below, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 will also give El Chapulín Colorado fans the chance to claim a limited-edition game with the purchase of any item from the new $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu. This giveaway is also unique to the Greater Houston area.
The $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu has three simple price points and each tier provides guests with breakfast, burger, chicken and beverage options.
Meet El Chapulín Colorado
The iconic Latin American television character El Chapulín Colorado is coming to Houston.
Not familiar with the character? El Chapulín Colorado is a comedic television show starring the character El Chapulín Colorado that ran for several years in the 1970s. The show was created in Mexico, and is still well-loved throughout Latin America. The superhero of sorts (he doesn’t have any actual superpowers) wears a red head-to-toe body suit with yellow shorts and the letters “CH” on his chest, and has long red and yellow antennae. Reruns of the original show and a newer animated version currently air on Unimás and Galavision, both Univision networks.
Late comedian and actor Roberto Gómez Bolaños is responsible for creating and starring in the El Chapulín Colorado series, and his son Roberto Gómez Fernández will be making an H-Town appearance.
Guests can meet and take a photo with the life-size animated El Chapulín Colorado character and Fernández at this fun-filled day at the 6815 Harrisburg Boulevard McDonald’s in Houston’s East End on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 11am to 3pm.
Free Limited-Edition El Chapulín Colorado Games
McDonald’s created limited-edition El Chapulín Colorado games featuring iconic images from the show, like the Chipote Chillón and Chicharra Paralizadora, along with items from the new menu, for this in-restaurant giveaway.
El Chapulín Colorado fans can visit one of the 48 participating restaurants in the Greater Houston area to get a themed deck of playing cards or traditional lotería game with the purchase of an item from the $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu.
The giveaway will begin at 11am on Saturday, January 27, 2018.
They are limited to one per customer, and you must dine-in (drive-thru, McDelivery, and Mobile Order & Pay orders are not eligible). Quantities are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
McDonald’s $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu
You can get a sausage burrito, McChicken, cheeseburger, and any size soft drink for just $1 each on the new menu. Items at the $2 price point include the Sausage McGriddle, 2-piece Buttermilk Crispy Tenders, Bacon McDouble, and a small McCafé drink. Finally, $3 menu items include a Sausage McMuffin with Egg, the new Classic Chicken Sandwich, Triple Cheeseburger, and a Happy Meal.
