Juneteenth Parade & Picnic in Galveston

FreeGalveston Island, the birthplace of Juneteenth, hosts the annual Juneteenth Parade and Picnic.
The parade kicks off at 26th and Avenue H at 1pm and concludes at Wright Cuney Park at 2pm.
The picnic immediately follows at Wright Cuney Park from 2pm to 5pm.

When you visit Galveston this summer, you’ll be coming home to where it all began as the island hosts many events and festivities celebrating Juneteenth—a holiday that originated in the historic beach town.
In addition to special events, commemorations and celebrations in June, the island has numerous landmarks, destinations, and other ways to reflect on the legacy of Juneteenth throughout the year.
