Toast to public service, local suds, and delicious brewpub fare at Senate Avenue Brewing Company in Jersey Village.
In the brief time since Senate Avenue Brewing Company opened its doors in September 2020, the Jersey Village taproom has carved out a place in the community by becoming a hangout for thirsty locals who have been underserved in local craft beer options.
Founded by ex-Mayor of Jersey Village, Andrew Mitcham and his wife, Michelle (who herself was recently elected to the Jersey Village City Council), Senate Avenue has already garnered a strong reputation for its reverence to public service—whether by providing much needed neighborhood assistance during the February freeze or expanding its tapwall offerings to feature brews from local and regional breweries.
The family-friendly brewhouse is an inviting community space that offers plenty of reasons to return, from the elevated pub grub to its growing local gatherings for H-Town sports, derby car races, and more.
The Suds of Senate Avenue
Located near the Highway 290 and Beltway 8 interchange, Senate Avenue’s taproom can be found serving up limited releases and small batch brews. Stop by to try staples like The Senator American IPA or the very sessionable CD7 Amber Ale, mingling alongside a selection of featured beers from breweries like nearby Klaus Brewing, Astral Brewing in Independence Heights, Galveston Island Brewing Company, and more.
If you’re not in the mood for hops, you can also order from their selection of wines, seltzers, sodas, and more to go along with their delicious brewpub fare from the counter service restaurant operating on-site.
From a diverse menu assembled through a partnership with Cafe Benedicte owner Dave Allum, visitors can dig into flatbread pizzas crafted with fresh ingredients; breaded wings soaked in sauces like Mango Habanero and Garlic Parmesan; handheld offerings like bison burgers topped with roasted jalapeño or a swiss, bacon, and avocado chicken sandwich on a brioche bun; or order up from their wide range of fried and sauteed appetizers.
Unwind in the Senate Ave Taproom
From the roomy interior featuring indoor bench swings to the outdoor patio offering a dog-friendly artificial lawn and kid-friendly gravel pit (set the kiddos on a search for the golden rock), Senate Ave’s taproom offers plenty of spaced seating with line of sight on TVs for the next Big Game.
Outside, the patio can be configured for projected events, like when the brewhouse hosts Astros nights, or for EPL matches and summer tournaments like the Euros. Looking to keep the little ones busy? Games for kids of all ages can be found scattered around the taproom.
