Dig into live book events, the latest appearances by authors, and more with our roundup of 11 book and literary events happening in Houston in November 2025.
The big book event this month is the annual Ann and Stephen Kaufman Jewish Book & Arts Festival. I have always loved the variety of books and authors spotlighted at this festival, which has multiple events the first two weeks this month.
When I read Lolá Ákínmádé Åkerström’s In Every Mirror She’s Black, I recommended it to everyone I knew. I’m super excited she’ll be at Kindred Stories this month, discussing her latest novel, Bitter Honey.
Another book I am super excited about is Kiran Desai’s The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny. I’m about to take a much-needed vacation, and that book is in the pile to come along. I’ll miss seeing her at Inprint’s reading series. But you really shouldn’t!
If you’re a writer, look into a self-publishing workshop hosted by WriteSpace, and consider signing up for an evening of readings at Brazos Bookstore.
There’s much more below.
