- The Lawsons at Ensemble Theatre | Daily; closes Sunday, March 13 – This world premiere play with music tells the story of Bill and Audrey Lawson. Their love story is a Houston story, taking place against the backdrop of the Civil Rights Movement and the unfolding of their dream to start a church that would change the face of the city’s Third Ward. $44 and up. Showtimes vary.
- Bob Dylan in Concert at Smart Financial Centre | Friday, March 11 – The mythical songwriter (and Nobel Prize winner) stops by Sugar Land to perform songs from his 39th studio album, the introspective Rough and Rowdy Ways. $39.50 and up. 8pm.
- RodeoHouston: Bun B’s H-Town Takeover in Concert at NRG Stadium | Black Heritage Day | Friday, March 11 – Houston’s legendary rap scene takes center stage for one of the biggest bills at the Rodeo as Bun B joins with Tobe Nwigwe, Devin the Dude, That Girl Lay Lay, Slim Thug, Z-Ro, Lil Keke, Lil’ Flip, Paul Wall and more on Black Heritage Day. $20 and up, but you may find better, cheaper or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 8:45pm.
- Comedian Sugar Sammy at Rudyard’s British Pub | Friday, March 11 & Saturday, March 12 – The globally touring comedian is joined by Riot Show comedians on the stage at the Montrose British pub for a highly anticipated gut-busting set. $20 and up. 7:30pm and 10pm both nights.
- That Golden Girls Show at Hobby Center | Friday, March 11 & Saturday, March 12 – Relive Golden Girls goodness at this critically-acclaimed puppet parody show that graces the Hobby Center stage for back-to-back nights. $43.50 and up. Times vary.
- Rock the Block Street Festival at Children’s Museum Houston | Saturday, March 12 – Bring the kids to the Rock the Block Street Festival for a slate of activities like a live DJ, inflatable games, live performances, a dunk tank, and colorful Art Car parade cars. Included with general admission; $15 for ages 1 and up. 10am to 3pm.
- 61st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Downtown | Saturday, March 12 | FREE – Line up for the return of the annual Irish celebration as the parade embraces a new route oriented around Historic Downtown. There’s also a free block party and celebration at Market Square Park, followed by a pub crawl around Historic Downtown. Noon to 3pm.
- BLCK Market at East River | Saturday, March 12 – Houston-based real estate investment and development firm Midway has teamed up with BLCK Market to host free monthly pop-up events on the site of its future East River development. Each event will feature live music, food trucks, and the opportunity to support over 50 Black-owned small businesses, entrepreneurs, artisans and vendors from around the country. 1pm to 5pm.
- RodeoHouston: Parker McCollum in Concert at NRG Stadium | Saturday, March 12 – The Conroe-native singer-songwriter headlines the start of the Rodeo’s second weekend, bringing songs from his mid-2021 release, Gold Chain Cowboy. $20 and up, but you may find better, cheaper or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 5:45pm.
- Houston SaberCats vs. Seattle Seawolves at Aveva Stadium | Saturday, March 12 – The revamped SaberCats continue their quick start to the season, hosting Seattle who themselves have started the year in winning ways. $15 and up. 7pm.
- 7th Annual Houston Whiskey & Fine Spirits Festival at the Ballroom at Bayou Place | Saturday, March 12 – Savor and learn about the nuances of finely distilled whiskey, bourbon, scotch, and other fine spirits. There will be plenty of samples, a cigar lounge, and live music—including smooth jazz by Dean James, country tunes by Aaron Copeland, and the modern R&B of Alex Isley. $65; $125 VIP. Advance purchase only. 7pm to 10pm.
- Nicky Jam in Concert at Smart Financial Centre | Saturday, March 12 – The reggaeton singer and rapper heads back out on the road to celebrate the release of his 2021 album, Infinity. $38 and up. 8pm.
- International Women’s Market at Karbach Brewing Co. | Sunday, March 13 | No Cover – Celebrate International Women’s Day at this local market taking place on the weekend at Karbach, offering visitors the chance to shop local artists, makers and foodies. 11am to 6pm.
- RodeoHouston: Dierks Bentley at NRG Stadium | Sunday, March 13 – With seventeen No. 1 singles to his name, one of the biggest country musicians touring today, Dierks Bentley, closes the second weekend of the Rodeo. $20 and up, but you may find better, cheaper or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 5:45pm.
