• Catastrophic Theatre presents Innominate at MATCH | Daily | Final Weekend – Afsaneh Aayani’s experimental dance theatre piece comes to Midtown, combining puppetry, live original music, mixed media and movement for a surreal journey through Aayani’s personal experience as an immigrant from war-torn Iran. Pay-what-you-can; suggested price of $35. Showtimes vary.

• The Big Show at Lawndale Art Center | Saturday, June 18 | FREE – Featuring only artists practicing within 100 miles of Lawndale, the Big Show returns to the Museum District, offering one of Houston’s signature art events of the year. 11am to 5pm. 
• WBC Boxing: Jermall Charlo vs. Maciej Sulecki at Toyota Center | Saturday, June 18 – The WBC Middleweight World Championship is on the line when beltholder and Houston’s own Jermall Charlo faces challenger Maciej Sulecki in Downtown. $50 and up. 5pm.
• Pride Art Show 2022 at Hardy & Nance Studios | Saturday, June 18 | FREE – The near-Downtown art studio unveils its 2022 Pride Show which brings together members of all communities to use their art as a positive form of expression against discrimination and violence. 5pm to 9pm. 
• Puro Desmadre: A Chicano Art Exhibit at Modern Art Gallery | Saturday, June 18 – Don your zoom suit if you’ve got one (en serio) for an evening celebrating Chicano culture and community in Downtown, complete with art installations, live DJ music by DJ Chicano Boulevard and DJ Kay Illah, lowrider cars, and more. Sounds by $25. 6pm to midnight.
• Comedian Anjelah Johnson-Reyes at Bayou Music Center | Saturday, June 18 – The former MADtv cast member known for her characters like Bon Qui Qui, and most recently seen in The Real Dirty Dancing on Fox, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes heads Downtown for a packed night of laughter. $39 and up. 7pm.
• Nick Cannon presents: MTV Wild N’ Out Live at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | Saturday, June 18 – Catch the successful MTV series, Wild N’ Out, as it comes to life on the stage in the Woodlands. Along with an appearance from the show’s host, Nick Cannon, you can expect stand-up bits by the show’s cast, interactive game segments, and musical numbers. $29.50 and up. 8pm.

• 150th Juneteenth Celebration at Emancipation Park | Saturday, June 18 & Juneteenth, Sunday, June 19 | FREE – In celebration of the 150th Juneteenth at Emancipation Park, these two days of festivities will include live music, food vendors, an interactive kid’s zone, and feature live performances by the Isley Brothers, Kool and the Gang, Sheila E., and more. 4pm to 10pm.
• Houston Ballet presents La Sylphide at Wortham Theater Center | Saturday, June 18 & Sunday, June 19 | Opening Weekend – The oldest ballet in existence; this is the story of a Scottish farmer who finds himself enchanted by a Sylph—a beautiful, winged creature—on the eve of his wedding. • Houston Symphony presents The Music of Whitney Houston at Hobby Center | Sunday, June 19 – Rashidra Scott’s powerful vocals join the mix as the Houston Symphony performs some of the biggest hits of pop diva Whitney Houston’s storied career, including “Saving All My Love,” “How Will I Know?” and “I Will Always Love You.” $34 and up. 7:30pm.
• Juneteenth: The Journey to Freedom at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Juneteenth, Sunday, June 19 | FREE | Virtual Option – More than a dozen performers come together to tell the story of African Americans from 1865 to today, and their journey to the celebration of freedom through dramatic visuals, live music, narration and dance. 8:30pm.
