  • The Dirty South: Contemporary Art, Material Culture & the Sonic Impulse at CAMH | Daily; closes Sunday, February 6 | FREE – This wide-ranging exhibition at Contemporary Arts Museum Houston explores the roots of Southern hip-hop culture and the ways it intermingles with historical and contemporary social issues in the South and across the nation. Featured artists on display include Arthur Jafa, Jamal Cyrus, Kara Walker, Kerry James Marshall, and many others. Noon to 6pm daily.
  • Sake Tasting at Revival Market | Friday, February 4 – Learn about the world of sake as expert Janiz Frago walks the class through six different sakes, covering where they come from, how they taste, and how they are made. $85; includes small bites from Revival Market to enjoy with each sake. 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
  • Tool, with Blonde Redhead at Toyota Center | Friday, February 4 – Prog metal rockers Tool bring their Fear Inoculum tour back to Toyota Center, joined by New York alt rock band, Blonde Redhead. $75 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Disney Princess: The Concert at Smart Financial Centre | Friday, February 4 Sing along to the enchanting soundtrack of Disney princesses from the iconic animated films, as sung by Tony- and Grammy-nominated artists. Be part of that whole new world by dressing in your best royal attire for the evening. $39.50 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Houston Grand Opera presents The Magic Flute at Wortham Center | Opens Friday, February 4 – Mozart’s masterpiece sees Prince Tamino and the bird catcher, Papageno, on a quest to rescue Pamina, daughter of the Queen of the Night. With instantly recognizable music, and a production augmented by film projections, this should be a feast for the eyes as well as the soul. $25 and up. Dates and times vary.
  • Cordae at House of Blues | Friday, February 4 – The Grammy-nominated rapper, who first splashed the charts with his debut studio album The Lost Boy, now returns to Houston in support of his latest album, From a Birds Eye View. $25 to $45. 8pm.

  • Houston Symphony presents Classic Rock: The Sound of a Generation at Jones Hall | Friday, February 4 to Sunday, February 6 | Virtual Option – The songs of the Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac, Styx and more get a symphonic makeover in this pops concert that includes selections like “Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow,” “Black Water,” and “Come Sail Away.” A must for nostalgia lovers. Saturday’s performance will also be livestreamed. $29 and up. Friday and Saturday 8pm; Sunday 2:30pm.
  • Houston Sabercats vs. Los Angeles Giltinis at Aveva Stadium | Saturday, February 5 – Rugby returns with this home opener for the Sabercats, who will embark on their fourth season in South Houston. $15 and up. 7pm.
  • Dance Nation at Rec Room | Ends Saturday, February 5 – Rec Room Arts closes the Houston premiere of this 2019 Pulitzer Prize Finalist, which the Pulitzer committee called “refreshingly unorthodox.” It’s the story of pre-teen competitive dancers who plot world domination at the Boogie Down Grand Prix in Tampa Bay. $20 and up. Wednesdays to Saturdays at 7:30pm.
  • Mike Epps: No Remorse Comedy Show at NRG Arena | Saturday, February 5 – The Def Jam comic and actor, who can most recently be seen in Netflix’s The Upshaws, is joined by Don DC Curry, Dominique, Tommy Davidson and Desi Banks for a laugh-out-loud show at NRG Arena. $59 to $125. 7:30pm.
  • An Evening with Chris Thile at Wortham Theater Center | Saturday, February 5 – Grammy Award–winning mandolinist and singer-songwriter Chris Thile appears at the Wortham Center for a special performance in support of his 2021 mid-summer release, Laysongs. $35 and up. 7:30pm.

  • Brick Fest Live at NRG Center | Saturday, February 5 & Sunday, February 6 – The master builders in your home will live their brick building dreams at this annual event that showcases LEGO exhibits, interactive stage shows, activities, photo ops, life-sized models and more. $24.99 and up. 9am to 5pm.
  • Lunar New Year 2022 Celebrations in Houston | Saturday, February 5 & Sunday, February 6 | Some FREE – Celebrate the Year of the Tiger at Chinese Community Center of Houston, Asia Society Texas Center, Lucky Land and more on the final weekend of Lunar New Year celebrations. Times vary.
  • Monster Jam at NRG Stadium | Saturday, February 5 & Sunday, February 6 – Watch as 12,000-pound monster trucks hit soaring heights in a rip-roaring display of motorsport mania. $20 to more than $115. Saturday 7pm; Sunday 3pm.
  • One Pot Showdown at Saint Arnold Beer Garden & Restaurant | Sunday, February 6 Saint A’s fan favorite one pot gauntlet is back for its 14th year, bringing chili, stews, gumbo, and more to taste alongside Saint A brews in support of Kids’ Meals, an organization that provides healthy lunches to preschool aged kids living in poverty. Tickets (which are known to sell out) are $40 per person. 1pm to 4pm.
  • Houston Rockets vs. New Orleans Pelicans at Toyota Center | Sunday, February 6 – The Rockets look to end a home losing streak against a fledgling team from New Orleans. As part of Sunday Funday, attendees can also enjoy $1 hot dogs and $5 beer or sodas. $12 and up, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 6pm.
