  • 5 Years After Landfall: A Community Event in East End | Friday, August 26 | FREE – Air Alliance Houston, Houston Climate Justice Museum, and One Breath Partnership join for an evening event of community reflection on the past five years and the effects of Hurricane Harvey. Hear from dignitaries like Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee and City of Houston poet laureate Outspoken Bean, view art exhibitions, shop books from Brazos Bookstore, and enjoy complimentary beer from 8th Wonder. 6pm to 8:30pm.
  • Loona in Concert at 713 Music Hall | Friday, August 26 – The K-pop supergroup land stateside to promote their latest summer EP, Flip That. $65 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Octopus’s Garden Film Screening at the Menil Collection | Friday, August 26 | FREE – Catch a screening of surrealist short films inspired by artist Meret Oppenheim’s collage, Octopus’s Garden, on display at the Menil. While there, enjoy grub from Moon Roster food truck and Friona Shaved Ice. 8:30pm.
  • The Riot Comedy Show presents Rachel Wolfson & Mat Edgar at Rudyard’s British Pub | Friday, August 26 & Saturday, August 27 – Starring alongside the classic crew in the 2022 film Jackass Forever, Rachel Wolfson takes the stage with friend Mat Edgar for back-to-back nights of stand-up in Montrose. $17 and up. Times vary.
  • Opening Reception: Fields of Vision by Marcus Lyon at the Silos at Sawyer Yards | Friday, August 26 & Saturday, August 27 | FREE – Projected on the side of the rice Silos at Sawyer Yards and viewable from the parking lot, this opening reception for the featured FotoFest artwork draws on the oral recordings, ancestral DNA maps, and portraits of a group of inspirational change-makers in an immersive light and sound show. Showings begin at 9pm and 9:40pm, following an introductory Q&A. 8:30pm to 10:30pm.

  • Swedish House Mafia in Concert at Toyota Center | Saturday, August 27 – After releasing their first studio album since their reunion, house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia hits the road for their Paradise Again World Tour. $39.50 and up. 8pm.
  • Black Chef Table featuring Chef Clinton Jackson at Kulture Restaurant | Saturday, August 27 – Another edition of the Black Chef Table series at Downtown’s Kulture near Discovery Green, this 6-course dinner is curated by Chef Clinton Jackson of CJ’s Masterpiece, and featuring courses like braised short ribs, jalapeno cornbread, Parmesan crusted lamb chops and more. “Sunday Best” attire recommended. $100. 8pm.
  • The Spoiled Rotten Comedy Show at the Orange Show for Visionary Art | Saturday, August 27 – A new comedy show debuts at the mosaic-filled monument to the humble fruit, featuring sets from Julz Serrano, Kate Vance, Jessi Saldaña, George Brito, Victor Tran and Julie Talbert, hosted by artist Emily Peacock. $16. 8pm to 10pm.
  • Bun B’s Trill Burgers Pop-Up at Houston City Hall | Sunday, August 28 – Fresh off a crowning of “Best Burger in America” by Good Morning America, Bun B’s smashburger pop-up comes to Houston City Hall for a Bun B Day celebration. Prices vary. 3pm to 7pm.
  • 12th Annual Feast of Saint Arnold at Saint Arnold Brewing Company | Sunday, August 28 – The 12th annual fundraiser for Texas Children’s Hospital returns to Saint Arnold with five courses of seafood, pork, poultry, beef and dessert, served family-style. $135. 5pm to 8pm.
