- Galápagos Islands Exhibit Opening Day at Houston Zoo | Friday, April 7 – At long last, the Zoo unveils their latest exhibition, the major Galápagos Islands exhibit which showcases the remarkable wildlife of the legendary islands with new animal additions like a colony of Humboldt penguins. $22.70 and up. 9am to 5pm.
- Artrageous at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday, April 7 | FREE – Watch as artists create large-scale masterpieces before your very eyes, set to exciting music and captivating choreography. This multidisciplinary show celebrates the arts with a visual journey punctuated with passionate energy from the assembled artists, singers, dancers and musicians that make Artrageous come alive. 8pm.
- Allstars Legends of Hip-Hop: Juvenile, 8 Ball & MJG, Ying Yang Twins, & Z-Ro at Arena Theatre | Friday, April 7 – Southern hip-hop takes the stage in Southwest Houston with a night of rap legends, including Houston’s own 8Ball & MJG, and Z-Ro. $75 and up. 8pm.
- Club ’90s: Lana Del Rey Night at House of Blues | Friday, April 7 – Get moving to the sounds of pop artist Lana Del Rey, including cuts from her brand new album, Did You Know That There’s A Bridge Under Ocean Boulevard? $18 and up. 9pm.
- Easter Orange Art Car Hunt at Smither Park | Saturday, April 8 | FREE – A 39-year-old tradition at the Orange Show, this free and creative Easter egg hunt is for the whole family with hundreds of candy-filled eggs, prizes and oranges, of course. Plus, you can enjoy live music and see a selection of Art Cars on display. 10am to 1pm.
- Anniversary Party at Urban South HTX Brewery | Saturday, April 8 | No Cover – The Gulf Coast brewery gets a birthday bash in Arts District, gathering circus performers, carnival treats and eight specialty releases for a celebratory day at the taproom. 11am to 9pm.
- Easter Fun at the Arab American Center | Saturday, April 8 | FREE – In Southwest Houston, you can gather with a large congregation of Arab Christians for a fun celebration of Easter with a cultural touch of bilingual songs and dance, free Easter Bunny photos, and an egg hunt, plus an appearance and book signing by author Nancy Zakhour who shares her story, Elissa and the World of Olives. Noon to 2pm.
- Heads & Tails Festival at 8th Wonder Brewery | Saturday, April 8 | No Cover – The annual all-ages crawfish festival hits the spacious back patio of 8th Wonder in East Downtown, offering mudbugs from Clutch City Crawfish and live music from Ruben Moreno’s Zydeco Re-Evolution. Noon to 5pm.
- H-Town Market at Post Houston | Saturday, April 8 | No Cover – The X Atrium at Post hosts an all-day affair featuring local vendors, artists, authors, entrepreneurs and a diverse slice of Houston’s community. Noon to 8pm.
- Houston Margarita Festival at the Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park | Saturday, April 8 – Returning for its tenth edition at the Water Works at Buffalo Bayou Park, the Houston Margarita Festival features more than 17 flavored margs for tasting, live music, DJ tunes, dancing, food vendors, and more. Advance tickets are $15 and up; $30 at the gate. Noon to 10pm.
- Adult Easter Egg Hunt at SpindleTap Brewery | Saturday, April 8 – The North Houston brewery hosts its first ever egg hunt for ages 21 and up, sending participants scrambling SpindlePark for lucky eggs with merch prizes, cash prizes and tokens. One lucky seeker can also find the coveted golden egg with $500. $25; includes one beer. 1pm; brewery hours from 11am to 10pm.
- Color:Story 2023 Opening Reception at the Silos at Sawyer Yards | Saturday, April 8 | FREE – Celebrate the opening of this biennial exhibition with a night that blends visual art and poetry from Texas-based artists, as well as writers from around the country. 6pm to 8pm.
- Bunnies on the Bayou 44 at Sesquicentennial Park | Easter Sunday, April 9 – The nonprofit fundraiser for Houston’s LGBTQIA+ community returns to the shores of Buffalo Bayou with their signature annual outdoor festival, with cocktails and beer on offer, plenty of dancing and live DJs, games, and more. $55 and up. 1pm to 6pm.
- Champagne Charles Heidsieck Cup at Houston Polo Club | Easter Sunday, April 9 – Kick off the spring polo season with a special Easter match day featuring an Easter egg and candy toss for kids at halftime. Plus, enjoy live music and onsite concessions from David Cordúa’s The Lymbar. $35; $15.50 for ages 12 and under. Boxes for 2 to 20 guests range from $89 to $895. 5pm.
