  • Houston Grand Opera presents Turandot at Wortham Center | Daily | Opening Weekend – Puccini’s masterpiece is the story of a princess who has no desire to marry, expertly thwarting the efforts of her suitors by challenging them to answer complex riddles or lose their heads. But what happens when she finds someone who can finally answer? $25 and up. Dates and showtimes vary.
  • Comedian Tig Notaro at Wortham Theater Center | Friday, April 22 – The Grammy-nominated comedian known for her special, Boyish Girl Interrupted, can most recently be seen in a 2021 HBO stand-up, Drawn, and on tour as she passes through Downtown’s Wortham Center. $45.50 and up. 7pm.
  • Marco Antonio Solís in Concert at Smart Financial Centre | Friday, April 22 – Los Bukis founder and multiple Latin Grammy–winning musician, Marco Antonio Solís arrives in Sugar Land while on the Qué Ganas de Verte World Tour. $59.50 and up. 8pm.
  • Earth Day Celebration at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center | Saturday, April 23 | FREE – Celebrate the beautiful planet of Earth with a family-friendly event that features poetry, drawing, photography and more. Explore informative booths and fun displays in the Discovery Room, take a nature hike, and get hands-on with Earth-friendly crafts and activities. 10am to 2pm.
  • BIPOC Book Fest: A Lit Vibe at Buffalo Soldiers National Museum | Saturday, April 23 | FREE – This annual festival highlights the literary work of Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and people of other marginalized communities with a book fair, artist talks, and readings. $10; free for ages 18 and under. 10am to 6pm. 
  • Spring Montrose Art & Gift Market at the Printing Museum | Saturday, April 23 | No Cover – This seasonal market sets up shop at the Printing Museum in Montrose for attendees to browse local artwork, crafts, jewelry and more so you can find the perfect gift for any occasion. Museum admission is free all day. Noon to 5pm.
  • The Ultimate Most Dopest Dodgeball Charity Challenge at Pitch 25 | Saturday, April 23 – This charity clash at Pitch 25 in East Downtown will see four teams of Houston sports stars and local celebrities dodging, ducking, dipping, diving and dodging to win money for their team’s nonprofit. Hosted by Houston Dynamo legend Brian Ching, the teams will be captained by NFL players Whitney Mercilus, Justin Reid, Chester Pitts and DJ Big Reeks. $20; free for ages 5 and under. 1pm to 4pm.
  • Jazz Picnic in the Park with Tianna Hall in Downtown | Saturday, April 23 | FREE – Jazz singer-songwriter Tianna Hall performs at a beautiful Downtown Houston park in this concert series that provides a spring picnic basket for attendees, including charcuterie, sandwiches and a sweet treat. $90 per picnic for 2. Address will be sent upon order. 6pm.
  • Kaleidoscope at Sugar Land Town Square | Saturday, April 23 | FREE – Commemorate the grand opening of the immersive Department of Wonder experience at Sugar Land Town Square with a musical and theatrical performance by Texas choral rock group Polyphonic Spree, plus interactive activities, art exhibits, a kid’s disco dance party, and more. 6pm to 9pm.
  • John Mayer in Concert at Toyota Center | Saturday, April 23 – The Grammy-winning guitarist and songwriter arrives in Downtown Houston for his first tour in four years, coinciding with the summer 2021 release of Sob Rock. $50 and up. 7:30pm.
  • League of Legends Mid-Season Showdown at NRG Stadium | Saturday, April 23 & Sunday, April 24 – One of the biggest eSports competitions comes to NRG for back-to-back days of Spring Finals action, pitting North American squads against one another in League of Legends play. Tickets are $120 and up, but you may find better or cheaper seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. Times vary.
  • Houston Latin Fest at Midtown Park | Sunday, April 24 | No Cover – Enjoy the Houston Latin Fest, a family-oriented cultural festival that provides the surrounding Latin communities a place to gather, listen, and dance to live entertainment in Midtown Park. $10 and up. 1pm to 10pm. 
  • Houston Dash vs. Racing Louisville FC at PNC Stadium | Sunday, April 24 – The finale of the group stage in the NWSL Challenge Cup will see the Dash host Racing Louisville FC while aiming to take a spot in the knockout stage that follows. $12 and up. 5pm.
  • Houston Ballet presents Raising the Barre at Bludorn Restaurant | Sunday, April 24 – Top Houston chefs and Houston Ballet dancers are offering a one-of-a-kind dining event with an inspired four-course meal. $350 and up. 6pm to 11pm.
