Say goodbye to summer as the Strand Summer Series closes out its monthly free movie nights with an outdoor screening of Barbie (2023, PG-13) at Hendley Green in historic downtown Galveston on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
Galveston Historical Foundation presents a free showing of the 2023 blockbuster comedy and satire starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and a long list of familiar names and faces.
Directed by Greta Gerwig, the acclaimed film based on the Mattel toy line begins with Barbie and Ken having the time of their lives in the colorful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans.
Dressing in pink is encouraged, but entirely optional.
The movie is free for all to watch and there will be beer and wine available onsite, as well as select food vendors. Learn more.
