Take a tour of Asian cultures through food, performances and more at the free, family-friendly AsiaFest 2022 at Asia Society Texas Center on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 11am to 5pm.
A decade after Asia Society Texas opened its elegantly designed space in Museum District, the center for cultural discovery and exchange celebrates with a free festival on those very grounds, offering an opportunity to explore the traditions, cultures and foods of different regions across Asia.
Take in traditional dance and music performances from seven Asian countries, including Indonesia, Pakistan and the Philippines; learn about the ancient Chinese sport of dragon boat racing with demonstrations on the front lawn; and immerse yourself in all-ages cultural activities that can beef up your knowledge of Urdu, tap into creativity with crafts like Singapore-inspired summer fans and colorful India-inspired paper flowers, rile up a good time with games and toys from Korea and Japan, and more.
Throughout the event, you can also get a free look at Making Home: Artists and Immigration, Asia Society Texas’ exhibition now in its final weeks that explores the individual, lived experiences of immigration through its featured artists Phung Huynh, Beili Liu, Tuan Andrew Nguyen, and Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya.
