Check out new works in clay, paint, and glass in Regeneration, a collaborative art exhibition on display at Archway Gallery from from Saturday, February 6, 2021 to Thursday, March 4, 2021.
Featuring new works in clay, paint, and glass by Carol Berger, Liz Conces Spencer, and Gene Hester, Archway’s February exhibit inspects nature’s regenerative force in the face of enormous odds. The works in this exhibition reflect the artists’ concern about the impact of human encroachment, the destruction of habitats, and the planet’s survival.
Berger’s works in clay along with Spencer’s and Hester’s works in glass explore visual ideas using the landscape and its natural elements as starting points. Spencer additionally will present dimensional paintings on wood and traditional works on canvas.
The exhibition will be on display through Thursday, March 4, 2021.
Supporting Houston Arboretum & Nature Center
To further support local efforts to protect Houston’s natural habitats, Archway Gallery is partnering with the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center, a 155-acre non-profit urban nature sanctuary which provides education about the natural environment to people of all ages. It plays a vital role in protecting native plants and animals in the heart of the city where development threatens their survival. During the month of February, the gallery is hosting a silent auction of a work of art to benefit the conservation efforts of the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center.

Social Distancing & COVID-19
Businesses and organizations in Houston have opened under modified protocols, following guidelines administered by local health officials, the State of Texas and CDC. At this time, guidance from experts urges people to continue wearing face masks when in public spaces, practice social distancing of at least six feet, limit your touching of surfaces and frequently use hand sanitizer or soap and water to keep your hands clean.
Although vaccines have been approved and distribution has begun, supplies are still limited. Health officials have severely cautioned that it will take until late spring 2021 before the U.S. might be able to expect a level of herd immunity. In the meantime, masks are strongly advised to help curb the increasing spread of COVID-19 this winter.
Before heading out, take time to familiarize with your destination’s requirements or restrictions at this moment, and be sure to contact them ahead of time with any questions or concerns.
