Head to the American Flag Football League’s (AFFL) Ultimate Final match at BBVA Compass Stadium in EaDo, and catch a special appearance by Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson before the game, this Thursday, July 19, 2018.
The AFFL comes to Houston for the final game in its first-ever national flag football tournament, featuring highly skilled, nimble players drawn from professional sports teams (the Professionals bracket) and the most highly skilled amateurs in the nation (the America’s Team bracket).
Reigning America’s Team Champion, Fighting Cancer, will face off against the Professionals’ Champion, Godspeed, for a $1 million prize.
As video footage shows, these athletes play in a highly physical and energetic competition that brings a thrilling new angle to classic football. Unhindered by bulking padding, athletes are spry on their feet and must lunge, dodge, and leap in an exciting way to avoid their competitors.
The game starts at 7pm, so Texans fans will want to plan to arrive by 6pm for Watson’s appearance.
In addition, four former Houston Texans are playing on Team Godspeed; Charles James, Justin Forsett, Alan Ball, and Jacoby Jones.
