Celebrate, promote, and learn all about the rich cultural abundance of a major Slavic ethnic group at the Czech Center Museum Houston.
Located in the heart of the Museum District, the nonprofit cultural arts organization opened in 1996 to bring Czech culture to Texas.
Featuring a wide array of cultural events, film screenings, art exhibitions, lectures and more, The Center’s mission is to celebrate the language and arts of Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia, and Slovakia.
Not only is the CCMH an events/arts center, the Center is also open to the public to rent for weddings, ceremonies, anniversary and birthday celebrations, corporate meetings, dinners, civic organizations, church groups, etc.
Programming & Tours at the Czech Center Museum Houston
Housed within the CCMH’s elegant building, visitors will find a museum and gallery with valuable paintings, artifacts, photography and sculpture, porcelain and crystal, and samples of folk arts in permanent and changing exhibitions.
The facility includes a performance hall for concerts, lectures, educational forums and social events; a library which focuses on collections of historic and contemporary periodicals on varying cultural topics; and even an ecumenical chapel for religious services, weddings, and renewal of vows.
Visitors can tour the beautiful interior or shop at their Prague International gift shop Monday through Saturday with tours of the luxurious building offered at 10am, 11:15am, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm. For groups of five or more, the Center asks that guests call ahead to schedule a guided tour.
The Czech Center disseminates information regarding tourist and business opportunities to facilitate economic development between Texas, the United States and the Czech and Slovak Republics.
