Check out the canned good creations of competitors in Canstruction Houston 2013 at CityCentre on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 3pm to 9pm.

This one-of-a-kind design and build competition benefitting the Houston Food Bank returns to CityCentre for the third year in a row. Teams of area architects, engineers, construction firms and even professionally-sponsored high school teams compete by building impressive sculptures made entirely of cans and food products.

After the competition, all cans go directly to the Houston Food Bank. Through 2012 program has produced 101,146 cans for the food bank and provide 87,846 nutritious meals for hunger relief charities in 18 southeast Texas counties. This year, 35,000 food cans have been provided by GOYA and Walmart provided grants totaling $7,600 to aid the participating high school teams.

Stick around for Glisten, CityCentre’s snowflake lighting holiday event at starting at 7pm.
