Reflect on what it means to be human through the self-portrait photography of Samantha Geballe on view at the Houston Center for Photography between Friday, May 13 through Sunday, July 10, 2016.

Los Angeles based artist and 2016 HCP Fellowship Recipient Samantha Geballe has been creating since an early age. In 2016 Samantha’s work finds her focusing on conceptual portraiture which explores human nature from the inside out.

Over the past few years Geballe has put her efforts into an on-going self-portrait series that tackles body image and healing.

The deeply emotional series challenges viewers to question what it means to accept oneself and confronts the anxieties that come with the struggle to accept our body.
