Welcome the Houston Rodeo back to town as thousands of men and women ride through Downtown on horseback, accompanied by festive floats and marching bands, on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10am.

Texas culture takes over Downtown Houston with procession celebrating Western heritage. Locals and visitors alike will line the sidewalks in anticipation of Rodeo season. The parade is kicked off by the ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run, whose participants run (and wheel) the parade route at intervals starting at 9:10am.

The parade will begin at Bagby and Walker streets, between City Hall and Tranquility Park. From there it will head east on Walker, against the street’s normal flow of traffic, and proceed to Travis Street. It will turn right on Travis and continue to Bell Street and then take another right onto Bell. The parade will continue on and turn right on to Louisiana Street, taking it to Lamar Street. Finally, it will turn left onto Lamar and then end when it reaches Bagby.

Parade planners recommend watching the parade at spots along Louisiana between Bell and Lamar as well as on Lamar between Louisiana to Smith. Note that Bagby Street will be off limits, as will Walker Street between Sabine Street and Bagby.

The parade will be led by its Grand Marshall Tom Herman, University of Houston Cougar’s head football coach.
