  • Comedian Dan Soder at Houston Improv | Thursday to Saturday – The NYC-based comedian and actor, best known as Mafee on Showtime’s hit series Billions, comes to the Spring Branch stage for 4 shows over 3 nights. Starts at $50 for 2. Times vary.
  • Comedian Jay Jurden at Punch Line Houston | Thursday to Saturday – The actor, comedian and former staff writer on Apple TV’s The Problem with Jon Stewart lands on Houston’s newest comedy stage for 4 shows. $26 and up. Times vary.
  • Los Temerarios in Concert at Toyota Center | Thursday to Saturday – After 46 years, the brothers Adolfo and Gustavo Ángel have announced they’re separating musically. Their Mexican grupera band will perform in Downtown for 3 final Houston shows. $54 and up. 8pm nightly.
  • Comedian Jeff Dye at The Riot Comedy Club | Friday & Saturday – The Riot welcomes the nationally touring comedian, actor, and host who’s been seen on The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, Who the Bleep is That? and more. $20 and up. Times vary.
  • Bayou City Art Festival at Memorial Park | Friday to Sunday – The twice annual Bayou City Art Festival returns to Memorial Park for two days of art shopping and showcases by more than 220 national and international artists. Plus, you can stroll the craft beer and boutique wine gardens, participate in a community art project and take in live performances. $20 and up; $5 for ages 6 to 12. 10am to 6pm each day.
  • Houston Arcade Expo 2024 at Marriott Westchase | Friday to Sunday – Get your hands on hundreds of pinball, arcade and console games set to free play, watch live gaming tourneys, brush up your knowledge in workshops and more. Wang Chung will perform live on Friday night. $45 and up. Times vary.
  • 35th Annual Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival in Downtown Conroe | Friday to Sunday – The family-friendly Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival features three days of live music with local, regional and national performers on three stages, food vendors offering festival and Cajun favorites, arts and crafts vendors, a professional carnival, assorted community and educational exhibits, an annual Catfish Pageant, and more. $15 and up; free for ages 12 and under.   • Genteel Junque at the Market on Depot | Friday to Sunday | FREE on Saturday & Sunday – Browse and shop for high quality antiques, furniture, art, and other surprises. Times vary.
  • Ghost Coast Festival in Downtown Galveston | Friday to Sunday – Delve into the paranormal at a Saturday festival at the League-Kempner House—complete with a vendor market, panels, speakers, paranormal investigations, ghost tours, psychic readings, kids activities—that will be bookended with a haunted Friday pub crawl and haunted tours on Sunday. Times vary.
  • Janeiad at Alley Theatre | Opens Friday – This world premiere finds Jane, a woman whose husband was lost in 9/11, finding comfort in the story of Penelope, wife of Odysseus, and her faith in his return. If Penelope believes against all odds her warrior husband will return, can’t Jane believe in miracles, too? $58 and up. Times vary.
  • 50th Annual Texas Renaissance Festival in Todd Mission | Saturday & Sunday – The beloved and storied RenFest Plan returns for a golden season, taking guests back in time to partake in jousting, enchantment, musical performances, shopping and more. $20 in advance; $25 day of; free for ages 12 and under. 9am to 8pm.
  • 15th Annual Korean Festival at Discovery Green | Saturday, October 12 & Sunday, October 13 | FREE –Celebrating 15 years, the Korean Festival showcases the best of Korean food, music, performing arts, and culture in Downtown. Saturday 10am to 9pm; Sunday 11am to 8pm.
  • 40th Annual Galveston Greek Festival at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – For the fortieth year, the 2-day Galveston Greek Festival will celebrate Hellenic culture at Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church. The lively channels the Greek islands with authentic food, wines, beer, pastries, dance performances,  and commemorative items. Times vary.
  • Oktoberfest at Bad Astronaut Brewing | Saturday & Sunday | No Cover This festive celebration of Oktoberfest includes live music, local markets, and authentic German-style food. Saturday 2pm to 10pm; Sunday 12pm to 6pm.
  • Stages & Hershey Felder Productions: Rachmaninoff & the Tsar at the Gordy | Daily – Debuting this week, the musical play brings to life the haunting memory of Rachmaninoff’s encounter with Russia’s last tsar, Nicholas II, and the Tsar’s daughter, Grand Duchess Anastasia. $54 and up. Times vary.
  • Classical Theatre Company: Dracula at The DeLuxe Theater | Daily – The action follows Jonathan Harker as he travels to the Carpathian Mountains to visit Count Dracula in his castle to help him purchase a home near London. But strange things are happening at the castle, and the count begins stalking the land as a blood-sucking vampire. $20 and up. Times vary.

  • Hand Broom Workshop at HCCC – Learn a long-lost skill and take home a beautifully crafted and functional hand broom in a class taught by former resident artist Molly Koehn. $85; $75 for members. 11am.
  • World Egg Day at Star Sailor – Take in a dose of special dishes like housemade potato salad or specialty deviled eggs to celebrate the flexible ingredient that adds so much to the table. Noon to 11:30pm.
  • Arts of Korea Gallery Celebration at MFAH – Celebrating the first gallery in the American South dedicated to Korean art, Han Narea presents a program featuring traditional Korean dance, Dori, an all-woman group from Seoul, and more music and dance performances. Included with museum admission. 6:30pm.
  • Jon Pardi in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion –The country music favorite, known for his hits “Head Over Boots” and “Night Shift”, kicks up The Woodlands stage on his Mr. Saturday Night tour that recently sold out 10 European shows. $35 and up. 7pm.
  • East End Bike Ride: Annual Cemetery Gates Ride at D&W Lounge – The Second Ward’s biggest ride of the year dons a skeleton and Dia de los Muertos theme as it rolls through Houston’s oldest and lesser known cemeteries. The afterparty happens back at the legendary dive bar, D&W Lounge. 7pm.
  • Monster Show 14 at Hardy & Nance Studios | FREE – Marking its tenth year of hosting art shows, Insomnia Gallery and the always eclectic artists collective present a monster-inspired art show accompanied with music, drinks, food vendors, and more. 7pm.
  • 2nd Annual Witches Brew Market at National Museum of Funeral History –Partake in an evening set in the Halloween spirit with more than 50 vendors, drinks, shopping, costumes and more. $25 to $75. 7pm.
  • The Beauty of Korean Dance: An Evening With Baik-kwang Dance Company at Asia Society Texas Center – Asia Society hosts its own celebration of Korean culture and history with a dance program featuring detailed costumes, complex footwork, and vibrant rhythms. $30. 7:30pm.
  • Gangstagrass in Concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – Gangstagrass is a 5-piece multi-racial collective of musicians who demolish preconceptions people have about bluegrass, country music, and hip-hop music. They’re best known for their theme to the FX television show Justified. 7:30pm.
  • Paul Thorn in Concert at The Heights Theater – The southern rock, country, Americana, and blues singer-songwriter visits the Heights in support of his latest album, Never Too Late to Call. $28 and up. 8pm.
  • Comedian Chris Turner at The Secret Group – The British comedian’s keen wit and intelligent wordplay have seen him rack up over 40 million views on YouTube, a standing ovation on  The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, a Las Vegas residency in Cirque Du Soleil’s show Mad Apple and more. $17 and up. 8pm.
  • The Red Clays Strays in Concert at 713 Music Hall – Hailing from Mobile, Alabama, the country rock band are best known for their 2022 single “Wondering Why”, which went viral on TikTok in 2023. $70 and up. 8pm.
  • Aphrodisi-Acts Burlesque presents Scream Queens at Warehouse Live Midtown – Featuring a cast of fierce, glamorous performers, Scream Queens reimagines iconic horror characters through a burlesque lens, mixing dark humor, tantalizing striptease, theatrical gore, stunning costumes, eerie music, and more. $30 and up. 9pm.
  • Omnom DJ Set at Bauhaus – The Californian DJ and producer brings his House style beats to the Downtown club for a live set. $25 and up. 10pm to 2am.
