- Fade to Black Festival at MATCH | Daily – Enjoy incredible works of theater at the closing weekend of Houston’s first and only national short play festival to spotlight the new works of African-American playwrights. $45 and up. Times vary.
- A.D. Players presents Fiddler on the Roof at George Theater | Daily – For 60 years, the story of the Jewish dairy man Tevye, his wife Golde and their five daughters has captivated audiences around the world. As he and his fellow villagers cope with the violence of antisemitism, they also feel the tension of how to honor tradition as the world around them changes. Recognizable songs include “If I Were A Rich Man,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” “Tradition” and more. $30 and up. Showtimes vary.
- DNVRMX presents Everything’s Bigger Pride at Multiple Venues | Daily – Get Pride Weekend rolling with a four-night slate of events taking place at venues around Houston, delivering DJ jams from the decks, themed attire nights, drinks and more. $25 and up. Times vary.
- Comedian Chris Porter at Houston Improv | Thursday to Saturday – The Kansas City comedian brings his chops to the Bayou City for three nights of laughs. Best known for his Top 3 appearance on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, his one-hour special Ugly & Angry was one of Netflix’s top rated specials. $40 and up. Times vary.
- Lone Star Lyric presents Breath of Life at Moody Center for the Arts | Thursday to Saturday – With music by J. Todd Frazier and libretto by Michael Remson, this opera is inspired by an early heart transplant performed in Houston. Watch it performed at Rice University, in the shadow of the Texas Medical Center, where the transplant took place. $40. Thursday and Friday 7:30pm; Saturday 2:30pm.
- Houston Symphony presents The Music of the Rolling Stones at Hobby Center | Friday & Saturday – Backed by the power of a full orchestra and rock band, lead singer Mick Adams delivers a fabulous rendition of Mick Jagger’s vocals (and moves) to recreate The Rolling Stones’ biggest hits through the decades—“Satisfaction,” “Paint It Black,” “Wild Horses,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” and many more. $40 and up. Friday 7:30pm; Saturday 2:30pm.
- Selena Tribute at Old Town Harrisburg | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – Celebrate the artistry of the Queen of Tejano, Selena Quintanilla with 2 days of festivities, including a screening of Selena, a paint workshop, a tribute concert, vendors, and more in the East End. 1pm to 9pm.

- Art in the Park at Evelyn’s Park | FREE – Bring the kids out for this a free workshop, where they can create their own masterpieces using a variety of media. Classes take place at the park’s Trevilion. 10am to noon.
- Inprint Houston presents Stories from the Heart of Medicine at Inprint House | FREE – Listen to writers share their stories about their work in the medical profession, selected from Inprint’s open call to those working in medicine. 5:30pm.
- Garrison Brothers Dinner at Wild Oats – Enjoy a delicious meal paired with select Garrison Brothers whiskies at the Memorial City–area restaurant. You’ll sample the distiller’s Small Batch, Honey Dew, Single Barrel and Balmorhea varieties as you eat your way through a four-course meal. $90. 6pm.
- Asia Society Texas presents Summer Tasting Tour of Asiatown at Kim Son – Head to the Bellaire location and enjoy an inspired summer tasting menu featuring dishes from Chinatowns across the country. Chefs Masaru Fukuda, Dory Fung, Lung Ly, Souli Phaduangdet, and Lena Le share their stories and traditions as you dine. $120. 7pm to 9pm.
- Drag Bingo at Eureka Heights Brewing | No Cover – Miss Gay Southwest America, Dessie Love-Blake hosts this evening of Pride month fun and prizes at the Heights brewery. It’s free to play, so come out and enjoy a night with friends. 7pm.
- Neon Foam Party at Post Houston – The downtown venue’s Skylawn is the setting for this epic summer jam, with family-friendly music, neon lights and foam machines. Grab a bite and drink from one of Post’s vendors, then head upstairs to dance the night away under the Houston skyline. $5. 7pm to 10pm.
- Concert Under the Stars: Selena Tribute at Marriott Marquis Houston – The hotel’s rooftop pool deck is the place for this evening of music from Cristina Amaro & the CTS Band. They’ll play the late Tejano legend’s hits while you groove all night and enjoy bites and beverages. $35 and up. 8pm to 9:30pm.
- Comedian Corrine Fisher at the Secret Group – The stand-up comedian, writer, director and actor made a splash in the comedy scene with her debut one-woman show Corinne Fisher: I Stalk You in 2010, and has been a force ever since. She’s been seen and heard on The Joe Rogan Experience, Where My Moms At?, Brilliant Idiots and more. $25 and up. 8pm.
- Steve Earle in Concert at the Heights Theater – The singer-songwriter and protege of Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark comes to Houston for a live performance. Since his chart-topping debut Guitar Town in 1986, he’s become an Americana legend, touring, singing, writing books and appearing in TV shows like The Wire and Tremé. Special guest Stacey Earle shares the stage. $44 and up. 8pm.
- The Beyhive at Noto Houston – The East End nightclub spins an evening of hits by H-Town’s own, Beyoncé. You’ll enjoy her legendary tunes in an elegant, upscale setting, complete with superior service and a 21-and-up vibe. $60 and up. 10pm.

- Paul Cauthen in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The country music singer-songwriter from East Texas comes to the Heights for a live show. Saving Country Music compared his stage presence to David Lee Roth, and Rough Stock called his 2022 Country Coming Down “one of the most-interesting country albums to be released the past few years.” $29.99. 6pm.
- Cocktail Class at Galveston Distilling Co. – Mix, shake and stir delicious craft cocktails in this hands-on class on the Island. All levels of mixologists are welcome, from beginners to bad ass. It’s a chance to make new friends and learn more about the artistry behind cocktail making. $40. 6pm.
- Roslyn Dupré: On U.S. Opening Reception at Lanecia Rouse Tinsley Gallery | FREE – The Houston artist features in this solo exhibition in Second Ward, with sculpture and textile works that all at once ask questions about duty, us as a group, and America. On display through Sunday, August 11. 6:30pm.
- Footloose Movie Screening at Jefferson Theatre – The theater in Beaumont screens the popular ’80s flick that takes place in Bomont, Indiana, about a group of kids who just want to dance and the town that won’t let them. Filled with hits like “Holding Out for a Hero,” “Almost Paradise” and the title track, it stars Kevin Bacon and John Lithgow. $6. 7pm.
- Rainbow on the Green at Discovery Green | FREE – Show your pride and that love is love at this annual family-friendly celebration. The downtown park hosts an evening of performances by Z’maji Glamouratti & the Lone Star Discoteq, DJ Hiram, drag queens and more. 7pm to 10pm.
- Music on the Square: Prince at Sugar Land Town Square | FREE – Grab your raspberry beret and come out and jam to all your favorite Prince hits in this electrifying concert that’ll have you partying like it’s 1999. Food and drink will be available for purchase. 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
- Old Gods of Appalachia at The Heights Theater – The award-winning and critically acclaimed horror fiction podcast comes to Houston to record a live show. Be part of the audience at what EN World calls “wonderfully written, very evocative.” $35 and up. 8pm.
- Comedian Roxxy Haze at the Secret Group – The comedian navigates life’s highs and lows with personal anecdotes about family, relationships, and the absurdities of existence. Come out and laugh with her as she returns to her hometown. $15 and up. 8pm.
- Tyler Halverson in Concert at Goode Company Armadillo Palace – The singer-songwriter is known for his signature style of “Western Amerijuana,” and influenced by artists such as Garth Brooks, George Strait, Boyz II Men and Taking Back Sunday. He made his Grand Ol’ Opry debut earlier this year. $15 and up. 8pm.
- Houston Contemporary Dance’s Silver Celebration at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – This evening of dance features a premiere by NYC-based artist Brandon Coleman, and Viola by sought after Thai American artist Keerati Jinakunwiphat. It’s also a chance to see a guest performance by the organization’s second company, Houston Contemporary 2. 8:30pm.
- Eden Girl+ Party at Warehouse Live – Pride Houston 365 brings its popular girl+ party back, dedicated to the strong womxn of the city’s LGBT+ community. Male presenting and non-binary friends are also welcome. $10 and up. 9pm.
- Million Dollar Red in Concert at Continental Club – Head to Midtown to catch this band that brings modern grit to Texas blues, rock and psychedelic music. The Beaumont Enterprise called their shows “heavy, soulful and exciting.” $10 and up. 9pm.
- Lady Faith DJ Set at Stereo Live – A top hardstyle DJ and producer comes to Houston for a live set. Las Vegas Weekly hailed her for “[crushing] expectations and sound barriers with her enormous sound.” $19.99. 10pm.
