The Galveston Council of Greeks hosts the second edition of the Juneteenth Sneaker Ball at Moody Gardens Hotel.

Patrons will be dressed in their tuxedos and gowns with fashionable sneakers to highlight this signature celebration.

Galveston Island: The Birthplace of Juneteenth

When you visit Galveston this summer, you’ll be coming home to where it all began as the island hosts many events and festivities celebrating Juneteenth—a holiday that originated in the historic beach town.

In addition to special events, commemorations and celebrations in June, the island has numerous landmarks, destinations, and other ways to reflect on the legacy of Juneteenth throughout the year.
