Spring has arrived in Houston, bringing with it a busy festival calendar throughout the Greater Houston region.
From March to May 2024, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to dive into festivals that celebrate the worlds of art, music, film, cultures from around the globe, and plain ol’ fun.
We’ve gathered more than 50 of the city’s best spring festivals to get on your schedule all season long.

Week of Monday, March 11, 2024
- Moon 2 Mars Festival at Space Center Houston | Wednesday, March 13 to Saturday, March 16 – This week-long festival at Johnson Space Center celebrates the innovations that power space exploration with looks at cutting-edge space tech, immersive experiences and astronaut appearances, plus four days of live concerts to round out the festivities. Tickets are $34.95 and up; $29.95 for ages 4 to 11; free for ages 3 and under. Times vary.
- Griff’s & Velvet Oak’s Weekend Block Party at Velvet Oak Tavern | Saturday, March 16 & Sunday, March 17 – While the Montrose mainstay Griff’s continues to rebuild following a devastating fire, they’ve joined forces with Velvet Oak Tavern on West Alabama to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with 2 days of Irish-infused fun with an all-day Irish crawfish and shrimp boil with live music on Saturday, followed by even music, Irish dancers, DJs, food, and more at the main event on Sunday. No cover on Saturday with crawfish $8 per pound; $10 on Sunday. 11am to 2am both days.

- 8th Houston Latino Film Festival at MATCH | Wednesday, March 20 to Sunday, March 24 – The annual film festival promoting Latino culture among Latinos and other communities has culled nearly 500 worldwide submissions down to an exciting festival lineup that features more than 60 short and feature-length films. Across MATCH’s several stages, the film festival will screen throughout five days, with several screenings accompanied by the filmmakers and directors in attendance. Single screenings are $14; all access passes are $60, $40 for students. Times vary.
- French Cultures Festival at Discovery Green | Friday, March 22 | FREE – Celebrate French culture in Downtown at this annual festival which this year is marked by the upcoming summer Olympics in Paris. Check out a free film screening on the lawn and kick around in a friendly soccer competition in partnership with Paris Saint-Germain Academy. 6pm to 10pm.
- Tomball German Heritage Festival in Old Town Tomball | Friday, March 22 to Sunday, March 24 | FREE – Tomball’s annual German Fest fills the streets with more than 200 vendors rocking antiques, arts and crafts, and more; plus cultural music, street performances, a Heritage Center, and tasty German fare, festival eats, and beer and wine. The weekend-long event is family-friendly and free to attend, with free parking and a shuttle service on Saturday and Sunday. Times vary.
- 20th Anniversary Celebration at Urban Harvest Farmers Market | Saturday, March 23 | FREE – The city’s popular farmer’s market celebrates 20 years a fest filled with family-friendly activities, like face painting, caricatures, plant giveaways, and a chef demo by James Beard Award-winning Chef Benchawan “G” Jabthong Painter of Street to Kitchen. 9am to 11am.
- Big Art Day at Pearland Town Center | Saturday, March 23 | FREE – The Pearland shopping and community hub has a big art day blowout with live chalk art demonstrations, student artwork, DIY make-and-takes, performances, DJs, door prizes and more. 10am to 2pm.
- 10th Annual Heights Kids’ Day of Music Festival at Love Park | Saturday, March 23 | FREE – This annual Heights festival returns with three stages of music, more than 30 arts organizations and musical immersion with an instrument petting zoo, a singing station and a drumming tent. 10am to 2pm.
- International Art & Kite Festival at Crown Festival Park in Sugar Land | Saturday, March 23 | FREE – Look to the sky for high flying kites and a day full of family entertainment. The festival celebrates culture and community through art, music, dancing and food, plus you can marvel at art cars and catch live performances. 10am to 3pm.
- Spring Fest 2024 at Houston’s First Baptist Church | Saturday, March 23 | FREE – The Downtown church hosts the free, campus-wide Spring Fest—an all-ages, family friendly event with games, a rock climbing wall, train rides, dodgeball, snacks, an Easter Egg Hunt for young kids, and more. 11am to 2pm.
- Frida Love Market at The Esplanade at Navigation | Saturday, March 23 | FREE – The East End esplanade hosts another edition of this Frida-themed marketplace with live performances, giveaways and local vendors doling out crafts and goodies that honor Mexico’s beloved artist. Costumes and Frida attire are encouraged. 11am to 4pm.
- 11th Lyons Avenue Renaissance Festival in Fifth Ward | Saturday, March 23 | FREE – The 11th annual edition of this festival celebrates the history, art and culture of Houston’s Fifth Ward. Expect stages playing authentic blues, hip-hop, rock and gospel, plus down-home cooking, soul food, Creole cuisine and BBQ. This family-friendly festival also features an Easter egg drop by helicopter, where kiddos can scramble for tens of thousands of goodie-filled eggs. Noon to 5pm.
- Thorn & Moon’s Spring Equinox Festival at St. Arnold Brewery | Saturday, March 23 | FREE – Celebrate the springtime with dozens of local vendors doling out goods and wares in the strange and occult, along with tarot readings and delicious food and brews from St. Arnold’s. 6pm to 11pm.
- Bayou City Art Festival in Downtown Houston | Saturday, March 23 & Sunday, March 24 – Houston’s iconic art festival returns this spring with artwork from more than 250 artists across 19 different categories, all on display for festival goers to browse and take home. The weekend festival will also showcase two entertainment stages, a food truck park, culinary stages, beverage stations and more. $18; free for ages 12 and under. 10am to 6pm.
- 15th Annual Nowruz Festival at Bayou City Event Center | Sunday, March 24 – This annual festival from the Iranian Cultural Foundation features a live concert by Iranian vocalist Kamyar, plus Persian folkloric dances and other festive fun. $30 and up; free for ages 9 and under. 3pm to 9pm.
- 20th Houston Jewish Film Festival at the Evelyn R. Rubenstein JCC | Sunday, March 24 to Thursday, April 4 – The annual festival kicks off in March, ushering in a series of entertaining and exceptional award-winning films that showcase Jewish lives and stories. Individual screenings are $15 and up; pick-three films is available for $53. Times vary.

- Old Weird Houston at Orange Show World HQ | Saturday, March 30 | FREE – This annual local history fair shares the weird, hidden histories of the unusual people, institutions and events that have molded the city of Houston. In addition to archival documents and panel discussions, you can also take in live music from Mydolls, and enjoy food and drink. 10am to 6pm.
- Sazon Latin Food Festival at Karbach Brewery | Saturday, March 30 | FREE – Come hungry (and thirsty) for the Sazon Latin Food Festival, featuring Latin food vendors representing flavors from the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Pair the eats with Karbach brews and look out for live music and family-friendly fun, too. 11am to 6pm.
- 45th Bunnies on the Bayou at Wortham Center | Sunday, March 31 – The nonprofit fundraiser for Houston’s LGBTQIA+ community returns to the shores of Buffalo Bayou with their signature annual outdoor festival, with cocktails and beer on offer, plenty of dancing and live DJs, games, and more. Ages 21 and up. $65 and up. 1pm to 6pm.

Week of Monday, April 1, 2024
- The Riot Comedy Festival at Rudyard’s Pub | Thursday, April 4 to Sunday, April 7 – More than 50 comedians descend on the Montrose pub for a weekend of comedy across three stages, plus a street carnival, beer and cocktails and tasty eats. Headlining talent includes Rocky Dale Davis, Robert Kelly and Kim Congdon—not to mention a slate of Houston’s funniest comics, podcasters and more. Individual shows start at $25; $159 for all-access, early bird discounts available. Times vary.
- 16th Annual H-Town Blues Festival at NRG Arena | Friday, April 5 – The annual blues extravaganza returns to Houston, featuring renown artists in Tucka, Pokey Bear, King George, and several more musicians and bands. $59 and up. 8pm.
- FoodieLand Night Market at NRG Park | Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 7 – This three-day fest takes over NRG, offering the chance to experience food and flavors from across a diverse array of cuisines. Guests can also shop a local marketplace, play games and take in live performances while getting their fill on delicious samples. $6. 3pm to 10pm.
- Galveston Steampunk Festival at Galveston Railroad Museum | Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 7 – Fans of the steampunk aesthetic will assemble for this three-day fest celebrating the sci-fi subgenre that crosses Victorian-era tech with retrofuturism. Throughout Saturday, fans can take in live music and special performances, participate in a costume contest and enjoy games like archery, axe throwing and more. Then, on Sunday, festival goers can stroll through home and history tours of the Galveston area, plus an evening walking ghost tour. $25 and up; $15 for kids. Saturday festival is 11am to 11pm; other activities vary by time.
- Pearland Holi Extravaganza at Pearland Town Center | Saturday, April 6 – A huge Holi celebration descends on Pearland to kick off April, complete with plenty of color play, DJs, games, kids activities, and a market featuring food, shopping and local vendors. No ticket required for festivities; $7 for admission to color play zone. 11am to 5pm.
- Houston Oyster & Seafest at Buffalo Bayou Park | Saturday, April 6 – The Galveston Bay Foundation hosts this annual event, featuring more than 15 Houston restaurants, each offering up dishes where the oyster is the star. There’s also music, cocktails, exhibits and more. $35 and up. 11:30am to 2:30pm.
- Annual Kite Festival at Hermann Park | Sunday, April 7 | FREE – One of Hermann Park’s signature events of the year, the Kite Festival at the Hermann hill offers a day of kite flying and fun, with other activities like live music, DJs, interactive games, face painting and more. 10am to 3pm.

- Texas Solar Eclipse Celebration at Space Center Houston | Monday, April 8 – Come by the Space Center on Eclipse Day for a full afternoon of fun, including complimentary viewing glasses, talks with space experts, solar system bracelet-making, inflatables, and other hands-on activities. $29.95; $24.95 for ages 4 to 11; free for ages 3 and under. 9am to 6pm.
- Montgomery County Fair & Rodeo at Montgomery County Fairgrounds | Thursday, April 11 to Sunday, April 21– If you’re still itching for your Rodeo fix, then Montgomery County returns with its annual county fair and rodeo with concerts, a carnival, a bbq cook-off, and livestock contests. Tickets range from $5 to $25. Times vary.
- The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival in Town Green Park | Friday, April 12 to Sunday, April 14 – A certain marker that spring has arrived, the 19th Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival brings more than 200 accomplished artists out to the Waterway shores and surroundings with live music, entertainment, and food and drink. $18; free for ages 12 and under. Times vary.
- Festival of Eid 2024 at Asia Society Texas Center | Saturday, April 13 | FREE – Mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan at this Asia Society festival that features outdoor food trucks and delicious eats, as well as craft activities, henna designs, musical performances and an indoor bazaar where you can shop local artists and small businesses. Pre-registration is required. Free to attend; $10 for ticketed performances. Noon to 4pm.
- 37th Annual Houston Art Car Parade on Allen Parkway | Saturday, April 13 | FREE – One of Houston’s most beloved events—and the largest celebration of its kind in the world with over 250 cars—gets rolling on Allen Parkway for its 37th edition. Come early at 11am to see the cars lineup and enjoy a mini music festival with food trucks and beverages. Parade begins at 2pm.
- Houston LatinFest at Crown Festival Park | Saturday, April 13 & Sunday, April 14 – Returning to Sugar Land, this annual music and culture festival is a family-friendly gathering with live Latin music along with local vendors and delicious Latin foods. $12 and up; free for ages 12 and under. 1pm to 10pm.
Week of Monday, April 15, 2024
- 22nd Annual FeatherFest Birding & Nature Photography Festival in Galveston | Thursday, April 18 to Sunday, April 21 – For amateur and seasoned birding enthusiasts alike, this multi-day event leads birders through various coastal communities to see native and migratory birds throughout the Galveston region. Saturday and Sunday also include a series of kid-friendly activities throughout the Island (times and prices vary; some free). Registration is $25; activities are a separate cost. Times vary.
- Midtown Art in the Park at Midtown Park | Saturday, April 20 | FREE – Stop by Midtown Houston for back-to-back days of art celebration at this family-friendly event with local vendors, performers, and limited ArtJam activities where you’ll craft some take-home keepsakes. This year’s theme celebrates National Jazz Month and the 125th anniversary of Duke Ellington’s birth. 10am to 4pm.
- The Grand Kids Festival in Downtown Galveston | Saturday, April 20 | FREE – Hosted in the Cultural Arts District of Downtown Galveston, this family festival from the Grand 1894 Opera House features a full day of fine arts for kids, along with hands-on projects, dance performances, shows, inflatables, a petting zoo, pony rides and more. 10am to 5pm.
- Earth Day Celebration & Water Works Festival at Discovery Green | Saturday, April 20 | FREE – One of Discovery Green’s signature events, the annual family-friendly festival returns with a full afternoon of interactive exhibits and educational experiences, plus live music, art installations, face painting, crafts and activities. Noon to 5pm.
- Houston Whiskey Riot 2023 at Post Houston | Saturday, April 20 – Sip and sample your way through more than 200 whiskies, taste inventive whiskey cocktails, meet master distillers and bring home a special tasting glass at this Downtown festival for all things whiskey. $90 and up. 4pm to 7pm.
- Puranava Indian Art & Culture Fest at Pearland Town Center | Saturday, April 20 | FREE – Celebrate Indian culture with an afternoon of arts performances, art exhibits, hands-on activities, a bazaar with food and local vendors, plus youth competitions in chess, art, trivia and more. 4pm to 8pm.

- 68th Sylvan Beach Festival in La Porte | Saturday, April 27 – Held along the waters of Galveston Bay, this historic fest features a country music lineup—headlined by Casey Donahew and William Clark Green—which caps off an entire day of family-friendly fun with carnival rides, a barbecue cook-off, arts and crafts, inflatables, a local vendor market and much more. $10 and up; $5 for ages 62+; free for ages 12 and under. 9am to 11pm.
- 19th Annual Frida Festival at The Storyhive | Saturday, April 27 | FREE – Celebrate all things Frida Kahlo at an East End festival featuring lively music, performances, vendors, food trucks, and plenty of people dressed up as one of Mexico’s most beloved and legendary artists. 11am to 7pm.
- Houston Brew Fest at Discovery Green | Saturday, April 27 – Beer fans can enjoy an afternoon of craft beer tasting from over 50 breweries, plus food trucks, lawn games and live music at the Downtown park space. $50 and up. 1pm to 4pm.
- Houston Zydeco Fest at Emancipation Park | Saturday, April 27 – The Third Ward park space hosts an afternoon of Zydeco tunes and food vendors that make up a Creole party with games, contests and more activities. $10 and up; free for 8 and under. 2pm to 10pm.
- Sugar Land Arts Fest 2024 at Smart Financial Centre Plaza | Saturday, April 27 & Sunday, April 28 – This two-day arts festival showcases more than 100 visual artists from across the country, plus you can enjoy live music, food, wine and more. Single day tickets are $10; $18 for both days. 10am to 4pm.

- La Izquierda Surf & Music Festival at Galveston’s Beach Central | Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5 – Head down to the island for a three-day celebration of beach culture and live music, with more than 30 acts including headliners The Nude Party, Kam Franklin, Tanya Nolan and many more. The festival will also feature surf competitions, vendors, food trucks, art installations, and more. Free on Friday; $25 per day on Saturday and Sunday. Times vary.
- East End Street Fest at the Espalande on Navigation | Saturday, May 4 | FREE – Held during Cinco de Mayo week, this festival celebrates the art, music and heritage of East End with dance performances, live bands, artwork and plenty of fun for kids at the Plaza de los Niños. Noon to 7pm.
- Houston Margarita Festival at the Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park | Saturday, May 4 – Returning for its 11th edition at the Water Works at Buffalo Bayou Park, the Houston Margarita Festival features more than 17 flavored margs for tasting, live music, DJ tunes, dancing, food vendors, and more. Advance tickets are $11 and up; $30 at the gate. 2pm to 10pm.

- 39th Texas Crab Festival at Festival Park in Crystal Beach | Friday, May 10 to Sunday, May 12 – Savor crab dishes, live music, and festivities, including carnival rides, art vendors, wiener dog races, and more at the 39th annual festival near Galveston. $25. Times vary.
- Big As Texas Music Festival at Montgomery County Fairgrounds | Friday, May 10 to Sunday, May 12 – This three-day music fest offers a stacked lineup of performers, including Thomas Rhett, Dierks Bentley, Billy Strings, Dwight Yoakam, Midland, Los Lobos, Morgan Wade and many more. Plus, you can check out live mural art, pig races, a varnival, car show, food trucks and plenty of other Texas-sized fun. Single day passes are $139 and up; $249 for a 3-day pass; free for ages 10 and under. Times vary.
- Sugar Land Jazz Festival at Crown Festival Park | Saturday, May 11 & Sunday, May 12 – For back-to-back days, this jazz fest in Sugar Land offers evenings of music from performers like Boney James, Robert Glasper and Tower of Power, among others. $54 and up. 5pm to 10:30pm.

- 25th Houston Greek Fest at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church | Thursday, May 16 to Saturday, May 18 – This annual Greek fest on the west side of Houston returns for a 25th anniversary celebration, where guests can dig into Greek foods and pastries, shop local vendors, try their feet at traditional dancing and have plenty of family-friendly fun. $10; free for ages 10 and under. Adult admission is free with a donation of three canned goods. Times vary.
- 51st Annual Pasadena Strawberry Festival at Pasadena Fairgrounds | Thursday, May 16 to Sunday, May 19 – The annual strawberry fest returns to Pasadena, featuring a weekend of barbecue, carnival rides, a car show, mutton bustin’, a kids zone, and more. $15; $5 for ages 6 to 10; free for ages 5 and under. Times vary.
- Heads & Tails Festival at 8th Wonder Brewery | Saturday, May 18 | No Cover – The annual all-ages crawfish festival hits the spacious back patio of 8th Wonder in East Downtown, offering mudbugs from Clutch City Crawfish and live music. Noon to 5pm.
- iFest USA 2024 at Discovery Green | Saturday, May 18 | FREE – The Downtown park space hosts another year of iFest, celebrating cultures from around the world with live entertainment, international cuisine and cultural booths that promote learning and exchange in support of peace, love and friendship. 3:30pm to 9pm.
Week of Monday, May 20, 2024
- Comicpalooza at George R. Brown Convention Center | Friday, May 24 to Sunday, May 26 – Get decked out in your favorite hero costume and head Downtown for a weekend of cosplay, autographs, and all-things-comics. Enjoy family-friendly activities, listen in on live panel discussions, shop from local creators, browse pop culture memorabilia, and much more. Single day passes range from $43 to $64, depending on day; weekend passes start at $90. Times vary.
