Plan out your Spring Break week with 15 of the best camps, celebrations and more things to do with family and kids in Greater Houston from Saturday, March 9 to Sunday, March 17, 2024.

Spring Break is upon us, and with it comes the scramble for family plans and activities that keep the week rolling along.

Fortunately, many of Houston’s signature parks, museums and family-friendly destinations have you covered with week-long camps and activities for the whole family.

Oh, and not to mention there’s a rodeo going on in town, offering daily fun for all ages.

Here are some of the best ways for families and kids to spend the Spring Break week in Greater Houston:

Spring Break 2024 for Families & Kids in Houston

  • Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo at NRG Park | Daily through Sunday, March 17 – Happening every day of Spring Break, the Houston Rodeo offers full days of carnival fun, festival eats, livestock and petting zoos, a vendor marketplace, and a nightly main event of bronco bustin’ and headlining concerts. Through Spring Break, you can catch performers like Lainey Wilson, Nickelback, Jonas Brothers, Brad Paisley, and others. NRG Park admission is $20 for ages 13 and up; $10 for ages 3 to 12; free for ages 2 and under. Carnival rides, rodeo and concert admission is an additional cost. Concert tickets (which include access to the grounds) start at $25. 8am to 9pm daily.
  • The Rink: Rolling at Discovery Green | Daily through Sunday, March 17 – Every day during spring break, you can strap on a pair of skates and take a glide around the rink at one of Discovery Green’s signature annual experiences. Check out themed nights with different DJ tunes, skating lessons and more. $12 per person; includes skate rental. 11am to 11pm.
  • Jurassic World: The Exhibition at Katy Mills | Opens Friday, March 8 for a Limited Engagement – Families can step through the giant gates of Jurassic World and come face-to-face with life-sized dinosaurs, including the towering Brachiosaurus, Velociraptors including Blue, and the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex amidst richly themed environment. Debuting in Houston for the first time, Jurassic World: The Exhibition has wowed more than 8 million people around the world. Tickets start at $24, and you can save 25% on early bird family bundles of 4 or more tickets until Sunday, February 25, 2024. Time slots vary.
  • Spring Break Blast at Children’s Museum Houston | Saturday, March 9 to Sunday, March 17 – Every day of Spring Break brings fun for all ages to the Museum District with featured highlights like a Super “MAR10” Day on March 10, an animal themed day with parrots and petting zoos, the 19th annual Pi Day with an epic pie fight, circus performers, and much more. $17 for ages 1 and up. 10am to 6pm.
  • Spring Break at Lone Star Flight Museum | Saturday, March 9 to Sunday, March 17 – Take flight all week long with daily activities at the aviation museum that include special visiting aircraft, the new space gallery, hangar talks with behind-the-scenes crew, half-price admission on Pi Day (March 14), helicopters and drones, and more. $18; $15 for ages 12 to 17; $12 for ages 5 to 11; free for ages 4 and under. 10am to 5pm; Sunday noon to 5pm.
  • Spring Break BotaniCamp 2024 at Houston Botanic Garden | Starts Monday, March 11 – Intended for K-5 students, this plant-centric nature camp in South Houston helps little learners tap into the world around us for creative craft activities. Going deeper than just observation, the camp offers thoughtful and diverse lessons to discover more about the natural world they inhabit. $200 per child. 9am to 2pm.
  • Spring Break Camps at Alley Theatre | Starts Monday, March 11 – This week-long camp from Alley Theatre in Downtown lets K-8 learners take on storytelling and acting, while setting up teenagers from 8th to 12th grades with monologue workshops. $340 and up. 9am to 3pm.

  • Spring Break at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft | Monday, March 11 to Friday, March 15 | FREE – Every day, the craft museum on Main Street will host hands-on activities, letting participants ages 3 and up explore craft and art making through different materials, tools and techniques. Activities take about a half hour and include crafts like polymer jewelry, circle weaving, traditional Ukrainian painting on egg ornaments, natural dyes, and collage. 10am to 1pm.
  • Spring Break at Bayou Bend Collection & Gardens | Monday, March 11 to Friday, March 15 – The American Decorative Arts museum hosts a week of art activities, play zones and daily highlights like a petting zoo, puppet shows, a harp performance and chances to explore Texas snakes and wetland wildlife. $10; free for ages 18 and under. 10am to 4pm.
  • Sizzlin’ Spring Break at Market Street | Monday, March 11 to Friday, March 15 | FREE – All week long, this shopping hub in the Woodlands hosts spring break celebrations each day with themes like carnival fun, superheroes, dance parties, rodeo round-ups, and St. Patrick’s Day. 11am to 1pm.
  • Spring Break at Sugar Land Town Square | Monday, March 11 to Friday, March 15 | FREE – Kiddos can enjoy spring break fun in Sugar Land, with live music performances by Andy Roo, magic shows, and the Texas Bubble Wranglers, among others. 11:30am to 1:30pm.

  • Spring Break at Discovery Green | Monday, March 11 to Friday, March 15 | FREE – Throughout spring break, the Downtown park space will host S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) activities, including the chance to get up-close with big trucks and vehicles, participate in collaborative workshops, learn the rhythm of drumming, and more. Noon to 4pm.
  • Spring Break at the George Ranch | Tuesday, March 12 to Saturday, March 16 – Celebrating its 200th anniversary, the George Ranch spends spring break with ranch cowboy demonstrations, chuckwagon cooking, longhorn round ups, and more, designed to offer a window into early Texas activities. $16; $11 for ages 4 to 12; free for ages 3 and under. 9am to 5pm.
  • Main Street Theater presents Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type at MATCH | Tuesday, March 12 to Saturday, March 16 – Younger kiddos and their families can enjoy a week of this production based on the Caldecott-winning book by Doreen Cronin, about a farmer who finds himself with his hands full when his cows learn to type and make their own demands. Come early before Wednesday’s performance for a Barnyard Bash with farm-themed foods, games and crafts before the show. $18 and up. 1:30pm daily, with an additional Saturday show at 10:30am.
  • Moon 2 Mars Festival at Space Center Houston | Wednesday, March 13 to Saturday, March 16 – This week-long festival at Johnson Space Center celebrates the innovations that power space exploration with looks at cutting-edge space tech, immersive experiences and astronaut appearances, plus four days of live concerts to round out the festivities. Tickets are $34.95 and up; $29.95 for ages 4 to 11; free for ages 3 and under. Times vary.
  • Shop Local Market presents Kids Fest at Houston Farmers Market | Friday, March 15 | FREE – Young local entrepreneurs are the spotlight for this exciting small business event showcasing the talents of up-and-coming kid entrepreneurs, artists, and makers. Join the fun with Break Free Hip Hop School, kids crafts and activities on the Market’s green space. 11am to 5pm.
  • Spring Break Community Celebration at Contemporary Arts Museum Houston | Saturday, March 16 | FREE – Wrap up spring break with a free afternoon of art-making activities and a performance by CAMH’s Teen Council. 1pm to 4pm.
