From Mardi Gras merrymaking to Fat Tuesday frolicking, Galveston Island begins to wrap up its two weeks of festive celebrations at the 113th Mardi Gras! Galveston.
The third largest Mardi Gras in the United States, the Island’s big bash puts a cap on its 113th year with a final weekend of festive parades, balcony parties, family events, and live performers bringing the grooves deep into the night.
With most of the action taking place in historic downtown’s Entertainment District, you can also get in on the fun with parades and other events that stretch down Seawall Boulevard along the beachfront.

Mardi Gras Revelry & Family Fun
The Mardi Gras! Galveston headquarters is the Entertainment District in Downtown, where the good times roll with music headliners gracing the stage at Saengerfest Park, bead-catching for the bare-necked masses, and balcony parties with prime parade viewing.
Or, if you’re in need of family-friendly revelry, then swing through on Sunday, February 11 for Family Gras! Day, where you’ll find a full day of live entertainment, plus the Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Pet Parade, Mardi Gras Children’s Parade, and the Sunshine Kids & Shriners Hospital Parade through the Entertainment District. Admission to the District is free for all on this day.

Mardi Gras Concerts & Entertainment
Saengerfest Park takes center stage during Mardi Gras! Galveston with more than 25 concerts gracing the stage and surrounding streets. Concert viewing is included with general admission tickets; upgrade your ticket to include balcony party admission with great concert views.
The Denton four-piece known as Eli Young Band bring their brand of country to headline Mardi Gras’ second weekend of concerts on Friday, February 9. They’ll be joined by fellow country artists in Brandon McDermott and Chad Cooke. Shows happen all night, with the headliner taking the stage around 10:45pm.

- Fridays 5pm to midnight
- Saturdays 11am to midnight
- Sundays 11am to 6pm
- Fat Tuesday 6pm to midnight
- Locations: Most events take place in the Entertainment District, at 23rd Street and Strand Street (ticket required for entry). Other parades and events also take place along Seawall Boulevard.
- Admission: General Admission tickets are $17 and up; free for ages 12 and under. Weekend passes are $31. Tickets are more expensive at the gate, or may not be available for purchase day of the event. Balcony parties are a separate ticket, and include access to the Entertainment District.
