  • Houston Restaurant Weeks at Multiple Locations | Daily | Ongoing – The Houston Food Bank’s biggest fundraiser returns for another year, offering a month-plus of tasty and charitable food and drink. Over 200 local restaurants are lined up to offer prix fixe meals for brunch, lunch and dinner (and even to-go), with a set dollar donation from each meal sold benefiting the Houston Food Bank and its mission to end hunger and provide food for better lives. Prices are $25 for brunch and lunch, $39 or $55 for dinner. Times vary by location.
  • Catastrophic Theatre presents Tamarie’s Totally True Revue (Plus Lies, Too) at MATCH | Thursday, August 3 to Saturday, August 5 | Final Weekend – The irrepressible Tamarie Cooper is back for this year’s summer revue spectacular. Cooper and her band of misfits explore twisted encounters with Tinkerbell, Ben Franklin, Pinocchio, Kenny Rogers and more on this epic, all-musical journey. Tickets are pay-what-you-can; suggested $35. Showtimes vary.
  • Houston Shakespeare Festival presents Macbeth & Much Ado About Nothing at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Thursday, August 3 to Saturday, August 6 | Final Weekend – This annual celebration of the Bard’s greatest works is back in Hermann Park. Macbeth is a story of madness, murder and power, while Much Ado About Nothing is a battle-of-the-sexes comedy. The shows are presented in repertory on alternating nights. 8:15pm.
  • Mutagen Mayhem at Ingenious Brewing Company | Friday, August 4 | No Cover – The Humble brewpub hosts a tribute night to the turtles, featuring beer releases and small batch pours of its Mutagen beer, along with cheesy pizza, free pours for best scores on the 1989 TMNT arcade game, and more, celebrating the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. 4pm to 10pm.
  • Author Talk: Roger Reeves at Kindred Stories | Friday, August 4 | FREE – The poet and author sits down at the Third Ward bookshop for a conversation focusing on his nonfiction debut, Dark Days, about the crucial need for community, solidarity and joy that can be found in experiencing the world through the present moment. Free to attend; $26 for the book. 7:30pm.

  • Thomas Rhett in Concert at Toyota Center | Friday, August 4 – The award-winning country artist takes over Toyota Center while touring his double-album, Country Again, and other fan favorites. $29.50 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Abilities Expo at NRG Center | Friday, August 4 to Sunday, August 6 | FREE – This free expo aims to connect the public with the latest products, technologies and resources that meet the needs of people of all ages that live with disabilities. Find out how to engage in adaptive sports, dance groups, and many other inclusive activities through demonstrations and informative workshops. Free with registration. Friday and Saturday 11am to 5pm; Sunday 11am to 4pm.
  • Jurassic World Live Tour at NRG Stadium | Friday, August 4 to Sunday, August 6 – Journey to Isla Nubar in this Jurassic World adventure that takes a wild turn in a live arena show. Watch as Blue the Raptor, the mighty T. Rex and more of your favorite dinosaurs come to life in this action-packed production. Before the show, take in photo opportunities with a Triceratops, Stegosaurus, the Jurassic World Jeep, and more in a one-hour pre-show experience. $20 and up. Times vary.
  • White Linen Night in the Heights | Saturday, August 5 | No Cover –Held on the first Saturday of August, the annual block party,White Linen Night, will take over 19th Street, with shops, restaurants, vendors and artists welcoming locals for a shop, sip and stroll from 6pm to 10pm. Other neighborhood spots get in on the fun, too, with parties along White Oak, 20th Street and more. 6pm to 10pm.
  • Beats on the Beach & Fireworks at Moody Gardens’ Palm Beach | Saturday, August 5 – The summer series closes at Moody Gardens, offering one last chance to enjoy DJ tunes along the shores of the water park, capped off with a fireworks spectacular. $30; fireworks can be seen for free from around the island. 6pm to 10pm; fireworks at 9:15pm.

  • Transcending Borders: The Ramayana Project at Asia Society Texas Center | Saturday, August 5 – This world premiere, cross-cultural production tells the epic of Ramayana through music and dance traditions of the South and Southeast Asian cultures that celebrate the epic poem and its themes. $25. 7pm.
  • Jesse & Joy in Concert at 713 Music Hall | Saturday, August 5 – The brother-sister pop duo from Mexico is bringing the heat to 713 when they perform music from their latest release, Cliches, with special guest Francisca Valenzuela supporting. $20 and up. 8pm.
  • Hip-Hop Vintage Flea Market at Bad Astronaut Brewing | Sunday, August 6 – Shop vintage goods and art while enjoying the return of this market that highlights the positive influences of hip-hop with live music, rap battles, open cyphers, food truck and more. $5. 4pm to 9pm.
  • Feast of Saint Arnold at Saint Arnold Brewing Company | Sunday, August 6 – Saint A’s annual fundraiser for Texas Children’s Hospital returns for its 13th year, raising funds for the hospital’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center. Guests will arrive to hors d’oeuvres and aperitif beers before the Feast kicks off at 5:45pm. The menu includes courses for seafood, poultry, beef, pork and dessert, with highlights such as Shrimp and Scallop Ravigote Salad, Bone In Pork Chop with Creole Dijon Sauce and Lemon Tiramisu. $140; includes all food and beer plus a commemorative Feast of Saint Arnold pint glass. 5pm.
  • George Clinton & Parliament in Concert at House of Blues | Sunday, August 6 – The psychedelic funk extraterrestrial and larger-than-life revolutionary George Clinton is bringing his avant-funk collective Parliament to the House of Blues in Downtown. $45 and up. 6pm.
