- Houston Symphony’s Star Spangled Salute at Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavilion | Monday, July 3 | FREE – Delight in patriotic music as the Houston Symphony presents its annual Star Spangled Salute in the Woodlands. 8pm.
- Houston Symphony’s Star Spangled Salute at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Independence Day, July 4 | FREE – Celebrate Independence Day with this concert of much-loved patriotic music and songs representing the whole of America. Fireworks will cap it all off, beginning around 10pm. 8:30pm to 10pm.
- Art Park Players present The Music Man at Deer Park Municipal Court | Friday, July 7 | Ongoing – Meredith Wilson’s classic musical comes alive at this dinner theatre in Deer Park, offering the tale of salesman Harold Hill who cons the people of River City into organizing a boys’ band—despite not knowing a trombone from a treble clef. This production runs through Saturday, July 22. $20; $40 with dinner. 8pm.
- Creative Movement Practices presents The Secret in the Wings at MATCH | Friday, July 7 | Ongoing – When a young girl is left at home with an amorous ogre, he tells her six tales, all darker than the one before. Will she be caught up in the darkness of his spell? $40. Showtimes vary.
- In True Form with Sheila Hopkins at the DeLuxe Theater | Saturday, July 8 | FREE – In collaboration with CAMH, artist Sheila Hopkins leads a community dance and movement workshop intended to explore movement and interpret contemporary material through circular breathing and qualities of jazz music. 10am to 11am.
- Vincent Victoria presents The House of Patrick at MATCH | Saturday, July 8 & Sunday, July 9 – This new play focuses on fashion designer Patrick Kelly, trying to make it in the cutthroat world of Paris fashion in the 1980s. He meets an aging Bette Davis and their friendship transforms his life. $30. Saturday 3pm and 8pm; Sunday 3pm.
